Morning Trivial Peeps!

Once again in work counting the hours minutes and seconds till I can be free for the precious, precious weekend frown

Still I did spend 4 hours last night being "re-educated" as to the evils of driving fast.. yes ladies, gentleman, and chunky I had to go on a Speed Awareness Course. While I'm all for educating drivers rather than punishing them I can't help but feel that this would be a more successful endeavour if they actually got their facts right, telling people things that even the densest of patrons knew to be wrong just undermines everything else they say, some of which was quite valid. There were things that they got wrong about the law FFS!

It was also quite scary to see how little not only the normal people there but even some of the people who drove for a living knew about some very basic highway code stuff! Quite clearly the people running the course didn't expect the "students" to know these things either, when I knew the answer for the various different limits for a single carriageway NSL for different vehicle types the instructor seemed surprised and asked if I had been on a SAC course before!!

How much were you over?

I got the bill for my slight excursion of the limit the other day. It was €212. So I've pinned the bill to my wall as a reminder to not be stupid.

It's not working that well

I was caught by a mobile van doing 37mph in a 30... the prosecution threshold for my county is 36 rolleyes

So 2 mph cost me £80 and four hours of my time laugh

Confession:

I can feel sorry for single grains of rice.

Germinated, grown, cropped, graded, stored, transported, packed, sold, bought, stored, cooked and served.

I can't leave them uneaten. Mrs C is driven mad by me chasing single grains of rice around my plate.

"It's given its all. I have to eat it!"

Yeah - the extra harsh bit is that the point of the road where the van was and I got caught was only a hundred yards or so before it turns into an NSL, I wasn't hooning either I was just keeping up with traffic flow frown

I did think about fighting it since the NIP took about 3 months to get to me but decided that as I was pretty much guilty as charged I might as well take my medicine!

No, it's an intermittent fault. You have to wallop the side of the monitor a few times and it comes back on. The vertical hold rolls a bit too, wiggling the plug in the back normally sorts that.
