Struggling to choose a name for son

Lazarus Heaton sounds like an aristocratic rogue. Which is pretty much the minimum you should do for your child in terms of giving them a start in life.
Lazarus Heaton will ALWAYS get an interview call back, get away with murder, have eccentric behaviour completely accepted by women and more. I'm actually angry it's not my name.
Imagine in a few years and your son is bowling down to Cannes in an E-Type he 'borrowed' from an associate. He walks the girl he picked up in Troyes up to the counter, pops his Persols down and says "Yes, my usual suite please...It's Heaton. Lazarus Heaton..."

I have a boy due on August 23rd and we are currently in the same boat as you.

No they aren't, they are boring.
I don't mean anything wacky or out there however there are some lovely names out there and yet people still persist with James or Thomas etc.
If boring means he can get through his schooldays without anyone pointing and laughing that's good.I don't mean anything wacky or out there however there are some lovely names out there and yet people still persist with James or Thomas etc.
Serious question, have you thought of swapping the christian & surnames around?
As in Heaton James
Heaton Williams
Heaton Thomas
My given name was Stephen Brooks, but I never liked it & spent years looking for a name I felt was right for me. After a few years, yes honestly that long, I swapped it around & came up with Brook Stevens.
That was it, search over & I was happy. You wouldn't believe the positive comments from the ladies over the years too

Have you considered 'Bogdan'? That's a great name.

The correct test for a boys name is how will it sound being screamed in the throes of passion by a young lady.
Hence
"oh yes, give it to me ... Dave?" - never works
Whereas " oh god yes, do it harder Lazarus" - is a winner
That's if he could ever get over being called 'Lezzer' by his bullying school mates.Hence
"oh yes, give it to me ... Dave?" - never works
Whereas " oh god yes, do it harder Lazarus" - is a winner

Additionally, EVERY single name will be adapted to make an insult at school. It's what schoolboys do.
