Lazarus Heaton sounds like an aristocratic rogue. Which is pretty much the minimum you should do for your child in terms of giving them a start in life.

Lazarus Heaton will ALWAYS get an interview call back, get away with murder, have eccentric behaviour completely accepted by women and more. I'm actually angry it's not my name.

Imagine in a few years and your son is bowling down to Cannes in an E-Type he 'borrowed' from an associate. He walks the girl he picked up in Troyes up to the counter, pops his Persols down and says "Yes, my usual suite please...It's Heaton. Lazarus Heaton..."
This This This

I have a boy due on August 23rd and we are currently in the same boat as you.

No they aren't, they are boring.

I don't mean anything wacky or out there however there are some lovely names out there and yet people still persist with James or Thomas etc.
If boring means he can get through his schooldays without anyone pointing and laughing that's good.
Boring doesn't get you noticed though; different names stick in the mind and if the child is well behaved and grows up int a decent young man then having a memorable name could be an advantage.

Oscar is good.
Is it fook! There's millions of the little fkers at the mo as everyone decided they'd be original with a name that wasn't often used.
Thomas, Samuel, Benjamin, William, these can be shortened if desired.
NOT Aston!

The .com and the .co.uk is available for Felix Heaton, just in case that's a consideration.

Aston?? Terrible...

You can be traditional without being boring. Just look at popular names from yester-year and avoid anything in the current top 50.

Avoid horrible American names like Turner, Addison, Jaydon etc

My pal just called his kid Bertrum (Bertie) which is great.

Serious question, have you thought of swapping the christian & surnames around?
As in Heaton James
Heaton Williams
Heaton Thomas

My given name was Stephen Brooks, but I never liked it & spent years looking for a name I felt was right for me. After a few years, yes honestly that long, I swapped it around & came up with Brook Stevens.
That was it, search over & I was happy. You wouldn't believe the positive comments from the ladies over the years too thumbup

You could call him Chillingham Road - on the off chance he moves to the right part of Newcastle one day you can save hours writing to him without having to write a name AND address like all those other suckers.

The correct test for a boys name is how will it sound being screamed in the throes of passion by a young lady.

Hence

"oh yes, give it to me ... Dave?" - never works

Whereas " oh god yes, do it harder Lazarus" - is a winner
That's if he could ever get over being called 'Lezzer' by his bullying school mates.

My great grandad was Henry Heaton Taylor. Think Henry Heaton has a nice ring to it.

In fairness, I'd name for the man he became rather than assume he'll stay in primary school forever. What kind of a cissy can't get over having their name ripped into at school??

Additionally, EVERY single name will be adapted to make an insult at school. It's what schoolboys do.
