Care to explain?

Lightning roaming around the Poole area for a while. Thunder has been pretty constant as well. Just starting to calm down here.

Very jealous of you all! Although I did get treated to a whopper in Mallorca last week, so not all bad.

Anyone know where the bulk of the storm/lightning is heading? Currently watching out of my bedroom window and some of them are so clear, yet so far away. Constant bolts across the sky is absolutely incredible to watch.

Just been woken up by a loud clap of thunder, seen a few flashes of impressive lightning and the rain has been torrential, seems to be stopping now so I probably missed the best! This is in West Sussex.

I hope you guys feel for us Antipodes, mid winter here and at 11:30 only bloody 11 degrees! Can't wait for you guys to give us our summer back so we can make something decent of it.

Well that was an entertaining night!

I wish i'd thought of the slow mo on the iPhone as we had the storm pretty much right over us in West Hampshire.

The thunder was incredible, with it lasting a fair few seconds.

I have never experienced anything like this before....and yes, i probably have led a sheltered life.

Had another storm about an hour later, a lot more rain, strong winds and some decent flashes of lightning smile

Nothing but rain on the Hampshire/West Berks border frown

Radar shows plenty more bubbling up over France and heading north - anyone could still catch a storm and anyone could get another (and another!)

Yep, radar shows a storm appeared just to the west.

Incidentally, if you zoom out on the rain alarm app you can see various radar pictures from round the world. cool Although the middle of France is missing. And my brother saw me use it the other day and downloaded it, and got his friends in out of the beer garden with a few minutes to spare yesterday. Apparently they think he's some kind of prophet biggrin

We've just had a massive bout of thunder here in Somerset.

I've never heard thunder like it, it was like an explosion tearing the sky open rather than a typical thunder rumble.

Incredible.
