We didn't have it anywhere near that bad, still a nice amount of rain for the garden and it's kept the temp down to a more comfortable levelsmile

There's a chance we could be heading towards a pattern change. Low pressure now looking more likely to arrive for Friday (sorry!).

After that we could head back towards fine weather, but long term trend forecasts are pointing towards a disappointing August (again.)
I have a massive BBQ planned this Saturday... im seriously hoping the outlook improves!! redface

Encouraging signs that after a low-dominated weekend for most of the UK, the South will bounce back next week. August not looking toooooo bad at the moment but we need to get rid of the low pressure and take stock.

Huh? Now in my amateur eyes, the jet-stream is the last thing we ever want. Either it brings warm wet weather in winter or cooler wet weather in summer. It always brings wind frown

Continental high pressure is what we want! When do we want it? NOW!

PS risk of thunder in most parts of UK today, away from far SE and NE

Sadly not - 2 Atlantic fronts are likely, rain for most/all

How's London / SE looking next week Pugs? From what I can tell it's not clear cut, so expecting a bit of a mixed bag!?

biggrin I meant Friday night. I think I've pieced it together. Looks like Friday evening here and following us as we head to the Chunnel. wink

Mixed bag is about right - warming up to mid 20s again is likely, but the Atlantic will be effecting most of the UK, so can't discount wetter/cooler periods.

Looking at next week's weather - the South is going to get another warm plume coming up from the Continent - effects should be felt Thursday through to Saturday. Could be heading back towards 30oC.

However...

Charts are showing the Atlantic is still in charge and we could be back below 20oC and extremely wet within 48 hours. Low pressure systems dominate between Iceland and Scotland, lots of wet weather, especially for the northern parts of west coast.

Still looking hopeful for 2nd half of August, but that's an awfully long way off.

I'm glad I did - even since writing that the chances of warmth diminished markedly frown
