Still managed the obligatory shot:

Nice!

Hoping for clear calm conditions tomorrow as I'm jumping out of this thing to pop my skydiving cherry.

Hoping for a nice weekend here on the South coast, however just incase I've redesigned the empty pond into the world's biggest fire pit and there are two tipper truck loads of wood being delivered for a dangerously large bonfire. I'm making curry for me and the boys but will try my hardest to utilise the bbq. If anyone in Brighton sees an unreasonable amount of smoke coming from the top of Ditchling Road, follow it and bring beer.

Just got out a taxi in Orlando and it's 34 at 5:30pm.

I'm looking forward to the cold in the UK in a weeks time!

13'c in the house when I got up the other morning, frost forecast for some areas over the next few days.
Are we on course for one of the coldest Augusts on record?

Growing consensus in the models that Sept will start markedly different to August. High pressure on the horizon from next weekend...

However tropical depression 4 has formed near the Caribbean and is predicted to 'do a Bertha'...

I had a pretty nice day yesterday, managed to sort a few things out in our garden after being away in Dorset for a week. Didn't get rained on there either and had enough sunshine to get diwn to rhe beach a few times. Even managed to catch some mackerel with a 6 ft spinning rod off the beach and bbq it right there which was pretty cool.

We finished up last night eating in the garden with my take on a 'firehouse steak'. A nice big hunk of ribeye seasoned, then smoked on the Weber in Hickory smoke for 30 mins, then sliced in two, stirred up the coals then whacked on for a final minute for a perfect medium rare, smoked and flame grilled steak. It was pretty delicious ! with home made coleslaw, potato wedges and sweetcorn straight from the farm. Pica to
Follow...

It got a bit colder later so we put some logs in the bbq while we polished off a tasty Shiraz.

Looking giod today too so we're probably off this pm to Windsor to go to the horseracing.

As I hinted some time ago, summer is far from over. Start of September is looking very pleasant for me, rest of UK, who cares!

As regards air frost in August, it's not that unusual, somewhere in the UK (usually Scotland) probably 1 year in ~4? I think 2012 had a colder night.
