I'm on holiday and they prevent you from logging in to check your winnings from overseas.

It'll be 2.80.again I'm sure but what if.........

Presumably Beardy is going to pop up again and promise to do a better job than Camelot and take no profit at the same time? When does the franchise expire?
If Beardy gets his hands on it, the big prizes will go and lots of £1 million prizes will be on offer.

Beardy doesn't like other people having lots of ££££££.

And he'd sink it, too. Last time, he demonstrated quite clearly he has no grasp of numbers.

You have more chance of being murdered in the UK than winning the lotto jackpot........FACT.

(4-6 people are murdered weekly on average)

It isn't £2.80. I won last night and it is an awe inspiring £3.10 ...

In 1995, 133 people shared the £16 million jackpot, and that was a Rollover too.
That was the week I got 4 numbers, I seem to remember it was only £16

I think psychologically its a bit crap as well.

I'm sure many people dream of winning, what they'll buy etc and when they don't win what they do have feels a bit st, so it effectively devalues how good life actually is.

Tonight is a rollover.

Website says "Estimated £6.9M"

I'm going to guess at less than £4m biggrin
Because of the high numbers, turned out to be £7m+. 2 winners.

This phrase annoys me when it comes to the lottery.

Some of us will be lucky enough to get rich through hard work, being in the right place / company at the right time etc.. but for most that isn't going to happen. So what is wrong of giving someone a chance to change their life for a measly few pounds?

It would be a tax for the stupid if there was a winner a year or ten years or some long time interval or for a huge stake, but every week someone wins a million pounds. Awesome.

Because the people who can least afford it buy the most tickets

gives it all to one person who then pisses it up the wall;
Do you have the stats to support these points?

I could spend all my winnings on my dream workshop and fill it with cars to tinker with. Someone else might buy something else with it all and see what I did with it as a waste. Depends on what you'd define as pissing it up the wall.
And as for poor people buying it the most, nobody put a gun to their head and forced them to buy all those tickets. If they can't control themselves then that's their problem.
