I need some new Sunglasses. I dont care about designer st that may look good, but over all gives fk all in the way of darkness etc. I have quite sensitive eyes to light, so I prefer darker lenses.

I want a pair that'll last. I also need non-prescription ones as I have 20/15 eye sight.

Any suggestions? Do Opticians tend to do non-prescription sunglasses?

Oakley offer loads of different lenses and they aren't silly money either. I'm pretty sure you will be able to get cheaper than an opticians.

Oakley are about show. The lenses are not particularly good. Buy Maui-Jims.

As above. Oakley do some fairly durable frames.
As for lens colour I'm going to suggest Black Iridium polarized - probably the most expensive and darkest shade but worth every penny. Onto my 4th set now.
Some frames allow you to have the option of replaceable lenses.

Never had a problem with my Oakleys. I bought polarised ones, taken them snowboarding numerous times and they do a great job. I also have sensitive eyes, in fact the sun makes me sneeze for some reason!

I've never really had designer glasses before and I'm sure there are better out there but I tried on a pair with "High Definition Lenses" and was amazed, they are fantastic, I sometimes wear them when it's overcast as they brighten things up and even out all the tones.

They cost me £50 and I love them.

My last pair cost me £10 on the ferry to France, but I broke one of the plastic arms last weekend, so I am back to my old faithful pair I bought from a camping shop some 4 years ago, but the lenses are scratched, the rubber bits are coming away and the bridge rubber is coming away too.

I've never been one to spend hundred on Sunglasses. I think my most expensive were around £20

Same here...................... until I tried the Oakleys hehe , I won't be going back to cheap cheap pairs as I can swap the lenses in mine too should I decide I no longer like them.

Gotta disagree with you there (as bloomin usual smile) I've got a pair of prescription irridium Oakleys I've had about fifteen years. You can look right at the sun if you're particularly stupid. And yes, I am particularly stupid biggrin

it doesn't matter how low the sun is in the sky, I can drive straight into it without the need for the sunvisor.

I have a couple of pairs of Bollés which seem to do the trick for driving. They're quite smart, too, having metal frames and not looking whacky like some brands do.

Are they 4K lenses or normal HD? I have heard there is no content readily available for 4k and as such a waste of money.

Are they Lens category 3 or 4? 4 aren't recommended for driving, but I am sure I have worn category 4 before.

Oakley customer service is also second to none. I've got a number of pairs, including one set of early X-Metal approaching 20 years old that were recently serviced FOC by Oakley UK.

Yes, some of them do look like you are wearing a training shoe on your face, but the Whisker, Plaintiff or Taper range are much more discreet.
