Purchased a pair of Oakley M-Frame 3.0 SI's last week, first pair of Oakley's I've owned, and couldn't be happier. Dead comfy, lightweight and interchangeable lenses.
How can something that contains unobtanium be wrong! Mainly picked them due to the size of the lens and the fact that I can fit a clear lens when going shooting.

Had mine nicked yesterday. I knew who'd taken them but couldn't prove it, politely confronted them but they denied it so shrugged my shoulders and walked off. The pub landlord also tried, no joy.
An hour or so later one of them and a 'new' bloke returned with my Ray-Bans, sheepish and apologetic, blaming her friend. Apologies and thanks all round - all good I thought.
Wasn't until later I realised they weren't just grubby - one lens is cracked and both are badly scratched.

New wayfarer? I've got a set of the black ones and one of the two tone ones, nicer better size than the original.Matt.. said:
At least some of you can look beyond Ray Bans! It seems like it's the default choice again now.
I wasn't too impressed with the Ray-Bans I had in all honesty, nice lenses (they were from 1991 so O think they were still B & L), but the frames were appauling for the price. The arms seemed to need tightening every month, one of the nose rests just randomly fell off - they just didn't feel like a quality item. Not sure if this has changed now they're part of the same group as Oakley, but the ones I had were not impressive at all. A shame, as Aviators are perfect for my face shape.
Far too many sunglasses, I think I subconsciously 'lose' them, buy another pair and then 'find' the old pair...
Ray Bans, Oakleys (about 5 or 6), Bolle, Bloc, Maui Jim,and a few others I can't find at the moment.
I prefer the Maui Jim (lighthouse polarised)to all the others including the polarised Oakleys, they seem to me at least to be much clearer.
Maui Jim are fairly reasonable at around £85-95 for the Lighthouse polarised from what I can see online

I like them. So I bought them. Nothing 'default' about my purchase.I got to know about Randolph glasses some years ago in another thread here.
Now I need a new optical frame and found a model that I like on their Website (randolph engineering)
http://cdn.nexternal.com/randolph/images/CC4R499_1...
When I contacted them I was told to contact one of the few shops in Germany that sell Randolph sunglasses,
only to be told there that they can´t be imported because they don´t have CE approval.
Is there any shop in the UK selling these optical Frames ?
BTT : Check out their sunglasses, seem to be good quality und are contracted to some US services.

I'm not a connoisseur of sunglasses like you lot so I can't really comment on them in too much depth, but my Persol 649 24/31 have served me very well indeed in the five or so years I've owned them.

Would recommend them to anyone, any day. Sturdy old things, I've dropped them and generally worn them quite hard but apart from a few scratches to the frames they're as good as new. The only maintenance I've given them is the occasional wipe down. When I bought them something was mentioned about a life-time guarantee too, though I didn't really pay attention so could be wrong.
