Quite beautiful.

It seems a shame with shotguns (I shoot) that you're never really around them long enough to enjoy the craftsmanship. You can't ogle them on the peg (might miss a bird), then they're in a sleeve and ultimately in the safe.
The only times is when you have a loader, when he/she will be able to admire the craftsmanship, or when you are cleaning them.

Top one is a Griffon engined version though with the longer and bulged engine cover, cannons and different wing. Not quite as pure as the earlier marks

The later Spit (top pic) also had the bubble canopy and slightly pointier fin, not sure about the wings being different?
There was a clipped wing variant for faster roll response at low level, but in my view completely ruined the aesthetics.

I think both marks I have posted are beautiful.

The Garden of Earthly Delights is probably a somewhat too predictable choice so I would go for this as being one of the most beautiful items ever made.

Close up detail of the middle panel.

The fully opened triptych.

On a more modest budget that aluminium Vulcan is tempting me...

Tempting me too, it would go beautifully with my cast ali Lockheed Constellation I posted earlier in the thread. Then again, I have just spend several hundred pounds on helicopter bits so maybe I'll wait for a while.....

That gear ring belongs in The Wing'd Horse of ChavTat thread.

Anyway, always quite fancied a Mokume Gane wedding ring. I think they look lovely and I appreciate the craftsmanship involved in creating one.

It Screams "Trying too hard" to me, which is what a gent should never do / wear IMHO
Meh, not as bad as trying hard to look like you're not trying too hard, which is what people seem to think being a gent is all about these days.

So is my actual wedding ring. With a brushed finished to match that of my collector watch. Suitably subtle and gentlemanly to placate the snobs on here, that's for sure!

It still like doesn't take away from my opinion that mokune gane jewelry is interesting and nice to look at. Perhaps you should educate yourself a little about the art and craftsmanship involved before casting your aspersions.

there are a lot of these modern 'rings for men who think jewellery is for girls' products about. Lots of tyre tread patterns, bits of carbon fibre, ceramic, black metal, game of thrones/lord of the rings/celtic patterns, skulls, dragons. They're a bit like cygnet/sovereign rings for a slightly younger generation. My wedding ring is a plain platinum band.

I'm guessing that you don't mean either of these:

Not knowing what a signet ring is probably deserves mention in the Council thread.

You've prompted me to dig this out Pesty - I took it at Gaydon the last time it flew over Warwickshire, awesome is an overused word these days but how else can you describe this wonderful piece of history...

Just get them out a bit more regularly to check/oil/clean!

The answer is to bring the engraving into your car

A pair of these and matching car are on my lottery wish list.

Not knowing anything about a chav thing qualifies me for the non-council thread.

A signet ring was at one time the very definition of 'non-chav'.

Where would somebody purchase one of these objects? I suspect the meteorite is rather price prohibitive though the petrified wood could well be justified via some man maths.
