I don't believe anyone has mentioned art deco "Cathedral" wireless sets yet....

Picture the 30s and you can just imagine one of these on a table in the corner of the lounge, softly playing Glen Miller with that warm fuzziness to it of AM broadcast.
One day I'd love to buy a non-functioning one of these beauties and discreetly fit modern DAB innards to it.

It seems a shame with shotguns (I shoot) that you're never really around them long enough to enjoy the craftsmanship. You can't ogle them on the peg (might miss a bird), then they're in a sleeve and ultimately in the safe.

Could always buy a deac. pair and mount them above the fireplace?

Top one is a Griffon engined version though with the longer and bulged engine cover, cannons and different wing. Not quite as pure as the earlier marks

Tempting me too, it would go beautifully with my cast ali Lockheed Constellation I posted earlier in the thread. Then again, I have just spend several hundred pounds on helicopter bits so maybe I'll wait for a while.....
