Cracking thread. smile

I've towed people in floods, helped change tyres etc, Living in a village a few years ago was brilliant for being able to help each other out. However, the only thing that springs to mind recently is chasing a robber down the street, and returning a guy's wallet. He gave me $50.

(Yes, this was in GTAV frown )

I need to get out more I think.

The Karma of my previous good deeds was repaid to me last weekend.

At a local festival and much the worse for wear I went for a little wander on my own and managed to lose my brand spanking new IPhone 5S.
Somewhat battered I retraced by steps but couldn't find it. I was knackered as it had my credit card tucked into the case and i was seperated from my wife and freinds amongst thousands of people.

After about 45 minutes of walking back and fort looking for it I got a tap on the shoulder:

"you lost a phone mate?"
"Yes! Yes I have..."
"Ah ok - I gave it to that security guy over there....."

I retrieved my phone from security man and went to find my good deed hero.

I had to literally force a tenner into his hand by way of thanks - he wasn't keen and didn't think he deserved it.

Faith in human nature restored!

Spotted a petite Japanese lady struggling with a large suitcase at the bottom of the staircase at Russell Sq tube, i offered to help and quickly wished I hadn't it felt like she had packed her suitcase with lead and it took every ounce of my strength to carry the case up the stairs without gurning like a toothless yorkshireman.

But it was worth it for her cute smile and little bow she gave me.

The one that really sticks in my mind happened a couple of months ago. I was in McDonalds getting breakfast and 2 homeless guys were say across the table trying to scrabble enough money together to buy a hot chocolate - yes, one hot chocolate between them.

Needless to say I bought them both breakfast as a timely reminder of how lucky me and my family are to take that sort of thing for granted.
I had a similar situation a couple of years ago in our local McDonalds. Two obviously down and out guys were sitting at a table and one of them had a cup of tea, and the other one was looking on longingly licking his lips. I got my other half to talk to them to distract them, whilst I nicked the cuppa and poured it away.

I didn't think it fair that only one of them had a drink.

It's always good to have a backup in case the snares get destroyed.

I stopped to have my sandwiches whilst I was at work and noticed a guy parked up in the same lay by prodding things under the bonnet of his Rover 2000. His fan belt had disintegrated and he was trying to get the new one on but had no tools. We tried using my tools on it but we still couldn't get the belt on as it was too small. Might not have been able to mend it but I gave the feller the rest of my bag of hand wipes to clean up whilst he waited for the breakdown truck as his hands were black. I felt good for helping.

Slightly off topic. My best friends step dad killed himself last month, she thinks he has come back as a pigeon...

I've run three of the fkers off since then, seven years without hitting anything and three in less than a month!

Was in between ferrying 3 peaks climbers off of pen y pass by snowdon when approached by an old fella and his mrs and dag, seems they'd come down from snowdon via the wrong path and their car was on other side, gave them a lift 15 miles and had to refuse offers of cash asking them to accept a random act of kindness.
