On Sunday, I was driving down a lane with some large houses with with long driveways leading off when I saw a large sized poodle run out one of the drives and start to run around in the road in front of me.

I inconsiderately pulled across the road to stop cars overtaking my car and running me or the dog over and I went and caught it. Fortunately he was a friendly feller and came to me when I called and didn't mind me grabbing him by the collar and marching him back up the drive where he came from.

Annoyingly the man took an age to answer the door and then said "that's not my dog"! Thankfully added "but it lives next door", so I marched down the drive, dog attached, along the road and up next door's drive. Plenty of cars building up in the road at this point!

This was the right house so I deposited dog with owner, ran back to the car, waved "thanks" to all the people queued up on both sides thinking I was an absolute n*b and I was on my way feeling happy I'd done someone a favour.

Gave some money to a homeless guy in Baltimore the other day for coffee, probably the last good deed I did.

Donated the remaining money needed to save a 2 year old dog from a Hungarian killing station. Hungary Hearts Dog Rescue saved him and will bring him to England for adoption. smile
If you're serious that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard

Walking around a small market in Bangkok when I spotted a bank note on the floor, picked it up and glanced at and thought it was worth about a pound, a little further on a homeless man had his little camp and I dropped the note in his begging bowl. When I got back to the hotel I checked the exchange rate and realised the note was worth about £10 - made me feel really quite pleased - the next night I walked by he had a packet of fags and a couple of beers- at least he made the most out of it!

So we're going to start importing dogs to adopt? You realise the supply is err... unlimited? Aside from the fact that all you're doing is funding somebodies lifestyle over in Hungary (of all places?) to ponce around with sad-eyed dogs. It is preposterous.

Last notable one was in a B&Q car park.

Get in the battered red/pink corsa after purchasing some manly items and begin reversing out of my space, it's a bit windy and I see one of those flat trolleys start rolling out of the trolley bay picking up speed and heading across my path towards the side a of shiney new ish 5 series.

I wouldnt be able to stop, get out ans reach the trolley in time so i keep reversing and let it hit my corsa, get out and park it securely in the trolley area.

No one saw this act of heroism (I looked around expecting some sort of applause)

Last week, whilst waiting at traffic lights, I saw a homeless guy crossing the road and something dropped from his pocket. Wasn't sure if it was money or not,but when the lights changed, I drove past and could see it was money. Pulled into the garage at the junction, jumped out, stepped into the road to get the $5 note, back into the car and off to find him. By this time he had crossed the dual carriageway and as we got near he crossed a railway track and down a bank out of sight. I wasn't about to stop in a busy road and chase after him, so I still have the $5 in the car and will give it to the next needy person I come across...

Last week when cycling to shops, noticed what looked like someone working on the side of a house at ground level. It looked a bit odd so went to take a better look.

Turned out the old guy I knew that lived there had been lying on the ground for over an hour and was trying to attract attention but nobody had noticed. He had a stroke a few years back, was taking the rubbish out and tripped on the gravel, couldn't get up. The family weren't going to be back for hours.

So I helped him up, got him inside, made him a cup of tea, put the rubbish out and waited until he was mobile and said he was OK.

A bit of luck for him as the rain came down heavily soon afterwards, I wouldn't have fancied his chances if cold and wet for a few hours.

I found a Rolex (real, to the best of my knowledge) at the top of a chairlift in Val d'Isere the week before last and handed it in.

I suspect a French pisteur is now enjoying his new Rolex and I feel a bit silly.

Started four years ago. I do realise it yes, but I believe no animal should die when they have a good home to go to and have people to care for them.

You might support a charity of your own choosing, this is my one.

A few weeks ago my lad (9 yrs) old came home with a mate on a BMX. It was a right state, brakes didn't work, flat tyre etc. I spent some time fixing it up for him while he played X-box, he know has a perfectly working bike.

We often go round to see our elderly neighbour because seemingly, no one else does. I find it odd because he's lived there since the 70's and knows all the others who've lived there similar lengths of time, including his next door neighbour, who, when they all had spouses who were alive, all went on holiday together!! We're the newest on the street by considerable margin and I think we've been to see him more in our short time than many of the others put together!

His daughter comes every now and then, but other than that as he can't walk far (and can't actually walk down his driveway because he'd never be able to walk back up), we go see him to have a chat otherwise he is just sat in his house watching TV!

It is hard for us to do though, we're only just in our 30's, we're very busy and we're often not home most nights and weekends so fitting time in to see him is hard. Shame no one else is seemingly taking up the slack!
