Best wishes - it will be tough with such long days at this time of year. When was the last time Ramadan coincided with midsummer?

Thanks, I don't recall ever having to fast in the middle of summer and I'm 30.

Yay! Nice clear roads so it only takes 10 mins to get home.

I love Ramadan.

I might get in on this actually, religion is a load of twaddle but I have nothing but respect for the Islamers who can pull it off. I work with a few and every year I'm impressed by their dedication to it.

Said I'd do it honourarily last year but didn't manage it. When does it all kick off?

I seriously can't be arsed this year.
I'll be walking abou 5 miles a day, leaving home at 7:15 and getting back at 4:15, couple that with 20 hour fasts and I'm losing motivation lol.

Past few years have been pretty easy in comparison.
Roll on Sunday.

Bloody chaos in the supermarket yesterday. Some bright spark had put pallets with boxes of stuff on in all the aisles making it nigh on impossible to get the trolleys past.

Anyhow moon or whatever not spotted so starts tomorrow doesn't it??

Going to tough this year! Any bets on whether or not this thread is going to be a repeat of last years Ramadan thread?

A young lad who works for me gave me a heads up that he's going to be in late most mornings for the next month.

I'm afraid that, in my ignorance, I didn't know much about it. He explained his daily routine to me. Man, that's going to be tough.

Very best wishes to all those who will be fasting.

Don't forget to make up your hours. wink

Why is he going to be late?

As I understand it, only allowed to eat between 10:00 and 02:00. Following last food therefore, I guess unlikely to ever sleep before 03:00.

Are there exceptions to this?

I'm freezing cold in the morning until I've eaten something and one of my daughters is like a bear with sore behind if she doesn't eat for a few hours.

Ahhh freedom of choice.

Hi boss, I'm going to be late every morning for a month because I'm going out on the lash every night and won't be home until 3am.

The key question is;

Is his employer happy / willing / able to accommodate him? Lots of places nowadays have flexible working so it needn't be a problem. smile

The first few days will be tough but the body (and the mind) adapt.

Lots. The sick, elderly, young, and pregnant women are exempt. However nobody can force you to do it so really it's down to your personal choice.
