Fare play. ASghhhhhh.

And (I've said this before but) So. Some people seem to be unable to begin a sentence without so.

Wonder if Rolf said, so, I'm off to prison wink
It's "fair play".... unless you get irritated by people juggling their change as they get on the bus?

those who finish their sentences with 'do you know what I mean?'

Yep, I've been listening and we're having a conversation, if I did't know, guess what, I'd ask….

One term that seems to be used loads by people on social media is 'Because......'.

Such as 'Because World Cup' in response to why they can't be somewhere.

What is this all about.

OP, I particularly loathe 'reach out'. I am currently working alongside the Offshore Indian arm of a large US consulting firm which rebranded itself after some notorious dodgy dealings. The Indians offer to 'reach out' to me every day, because they think it makes them sound intelligent in the eyes of their Yankee paymasters. If they are not 'reaching out' to me they are wanting 'a connect'. If they want a fking meeting, why don't they just ask for a fking meeting?!

"Artisan" as a prefix to any product or service, e.g. "Artisan Baker", "artisan cider".

I've got another one. I hate 'empower'. It doesn't actually mean anything.
Yes it does:

It's like listening to a bunch of old women moan reading this thread, they're just fking words.
They are, but you do feel the death of something inside when you send someone an e-mail and get back the reply "Wilco". "I'm on it", "Sure", "no problem, I'll get back to you" etc all fine and dandy. Wilco though...
Don't get me wrong, I'm as judgmental as most people on bad spelling, grammar and text speak. I just don't see it as a real priority in life's worries. Language evolves, some people are stupid, you can do fk all about it so why let it bother you?

Far more pressing things to concern myself with thumbup

This, marks women who use it out as harridans & men who tolerate it as emasculated man- children.

You're joking.

One that really annoys me is "Cup of tea". Why not just tea? Why does it always have to be "cup of"?
Oh, sorry I thought you wanted it in a glass.

I use "fella" and have done for years. I always assumed it was a scouse-ism , like "kidda"
Fair enough if it's a regional thing, but the person that used this term was quite well-spoken/posh.

it just seemed a bit odd. He might say "fellow" in real life but definitely not "fella".

"I was Gutted!" AHHHHH I hate that.
Another couple of phrases used by the instructor at a swimming class addressing my Daughter...... "Picture in your mind" and "Hold that thought". I'll go mad soon if I hear them again (so will my daughter, who at 15 also thinks these phrases are ridiculous)

On the same lines.
