Wow! Just had a read through this thread and there's some serious misery fkers on here! One guy was having a belly ache over job titles for jobs he considers to be crap. Page 3, real life wker.

The only ones that make me cringe are the PH "leaves me cold" and "meh" and "chap". I've never had anyone call me chap to my face. Do people call each other chap in real life?

Going Forward. You can always drop that from the sentence and it still has the same meaning, just with 2 fewer words.
Agreed, it seems to be everywhere at the moment.

"pre booked" - no, it's "booked", unless you mean "before booked"
"pre made" - no, it's "made", unless you mean "before made"
"pre order" - no, it's "order", or possibly "pre-release order" if you need to specify when the order takes place.

In fact, pretty much any phrase where "pre" is put before a verb can safely omit the "pre" altogether.

"Are you alright there?" - when you walk into a shop, restaurant, hotel or similar. It annoys the hell out of me...

The other one is "Guys" - when someone is sending to a group or presenting to a group. So, annoying!

Correct.
By that logic, should a bus station properly be called a road station?

I got it for free. Nope, you got it free, you idiot.

In restaurants....rustic. Which basically means they fked it up but are pretending it's meant to look like a 3 y/o cooked it.
Or Cajun, which is posh for burnt.

We've had a baby girl. Girl will do, I'm kind of assuming she was a baby, given you were pregnant for the standard 9 months and not 3 years.

On the news...the Earthquake has decimated the town. Really?? Only 10% of it was destroyed? It looks a lot worse than that to me.

News script writers who insist on calling things "SO CALLED" rather than what theyre actually called, like the "so called bedroom tax".

There isnt a news item on now where this isnt mentioned, the other that makes mine crawl is "communities". We have to have at least 10 mentions of this as well, its like they have a communities and so called quota for each item. mad

Oh, and the other one that seems to be purveying everything is people who cant describe something or start a sentance without the word "so". punch

Its not called the bedroom tax. Its called that by Labour to make it sound like a tax on the poor, hence "so called".

"Rocked up." fk off!

I despise that phrase too.

Why 'rocked?' It has absolutely no relevance to 'arriving' or 'walking' or anything else like that. It's just stupid.

An even more irritating variant would be something like "...yeah I'm rocking a new coat.."

'Rocking' a new coat? 'ROCKING' a new coat??!!!!
