Got divorced once, got married once and had another daughter with my new wife
Moved house 3 times
had a dozen or so cars
did a bit of rallying
bought a TVR
Bought another TVR after the first one spontaneously combusted on the drive
had 7 or 8 jobs (one of which was well paid but the worst job I have ever had, I walked out after 3 months without another job to go to)

Moved house
Moved primary school and graduated it
Graduated high school
Got my first car
Passed my driving test
Moved house again
Graduated college
Started uni on my dream course that turned into a nightmare course
Had 2 brief girlfriends that both went badly
Got my steam engine and my second car
Learned to fly and went solo in gliders
Taken first car off the road for a still-pending rebuild
Flunked out of first uni
Started a new degree and finished first year with flying colours
Joined a racing team

In those 14 years I've also had many amazing adventures with amazing friends, and visited many countries on my travels smile

Since 2000....
Bought a house & renovated it
Left my career
Left my bird
Moved to Spain
Dossed around for a couple of years
Moved back to uk
Started new career
Sold my first house at huge profit
Started a business
Bought my dream house
Got a Labrador
Learned the nurburgring
Got engaged
Got married
Expanded the business

Bought 11 cars I think, not bad going seeing as I probably had a stretch of 5 years without one!

I put learned the nurburgring as it's become such an important part of my life, but equally important has been the whole euro-hoon thing which we love.

What an amazing thread, it really makes you think about how good life can be smile it's also made me think what a large proportion luck has had in everything I've done! Oh & parents, they've definitely helped!

I spent the first 8 years staring at the west wall of my spare room.

The lustre of this did eventually dull, I had to do something, so I bit the bullet and made the switch to the north. After all the upheaval it was evidently a great move, that wall has a window and I've never looked back.

Now, this being t'internet I've had to jazz up my little tail a bit, but one has to try to keep up with the marrying, sprog popping, business starting types on here.

You have a tail?

You should start a thread about that!

Laughed a lot, partied a lot,
ate way too much, laughed some more.
Left a job, started something new,
Bought a few cars,
Danced on my wedding day, cried a few weeks later
Kissed my love goodbye,
and on Skye cried an ocean more.
Met some car nuts,
met some more,
Call many friends,
and one baldy one, the best mate of all,
met someone new,
now learning to hold loss and laughter at the same time
and that's been by far, the hardest thing of all.

Surprised anyone read it. I certainly haven't trawled through all the other guff. hehe
I meant it.
I read it too. Just finished the thread to see if anyone else picked up on this.

If you care to share more, I know I'd be really interested to hear the whole of this story, maybe it's in own thread? I'm certain that it could be very helpful to others & inspiring as well smile

Seems odd to put the last 14 years into numbers, as its really the experiences that matter, to me...

Travelled around Europe, Japan, Australia, NZ, US
Met some great people, and some utter tts - but that's just the way it is
Settled the other side of the planet
Found somewhere really nice to live, near the beach, can't imagine not living near the beach anymore
Had a couple of great jobs, now getting ready for the next - just not sure what that is yet
Have a small brood, the last of which was born only a few months ago
Drink a lot less beer. And I mean a lot.
Brew my own beer, for amusement and tasting
Mountain bike a lot more, including marathon events
Discovered Japanese reliability
Discovered that in some countries a Peugeot 405 is regarded as a prestige car
Miss my friends but seem to have become more content with my lot in general

2000 was my GCSE year. Things have been rather eventful since then!

2000: GCSEs
2001: driving test
2002: A levels
2002-2005: Uni - three letters which sum up a hell of a lot!
2006-present: first proper job, gone from clueless trainee to a fairly decent engineering position.

In between there have been 6 menial jobs (e.g. McD's when I was 16), one half-decent one which helped me into the current job, 8 cars (9th arrives tomorrow, and I'm still searching for the right 10th!), 2 houses, lots of drunken antics (particularly in the GCSE to uni period!), some women of varying levels of advisability, too many bicycles, lots of time spent/wasted tinkering with cars and gadgets.

Most importantly, met my current girlfriend, got engaged, and had our daughter - currently learning just how barmy 2 year olds are!

Lost family members, gained new ones, made new friends, been to more weddings than I can count, watched people I used to run round the playground with have kids of their own...

That's been some 14 years.

Put the RS2000 in the garage when I moved house.
Changed jobs a few times, kids have grown up from being babies to young adults.
Fallen out and then back in love with cars/driving.
Done shed loads of DIY and still haven't finished.
Been to some amazing holidays, parties, weddings and get togethers.
Lost a few dear relatives.
RS2000 is still in the garage...
