letting an engine warm up whilst sat on the drive is not even a good idea either.

Has the handbrake fail on their car causing it to roll across a courtyard, over a garden and just about into the side of a house. Then refuses to pay for the damage caused to the garden. Or apologise.

Forgetting the odd neighbours for a sec,WTF is that about the council warning you for not recycling? Since when did it become compulsory?
That was my feeling too. I was momentarily tempted to dump the contents of the composter on the curbside... but they'd not collect it if it wasn't in the correct bag!
Whilst its not compulsory, where I am if its not segregated into the apropriate bins or boxes it doesnt get collected. Even when you go to the local tip if you have tied up bags you have to open them to show the opo's the contents does not contain items that cant be recyled or taken out and put in to the apropriate bins. The way around it is to make sure that the last item to go in the bag is either a load of e.g garden sweepings or my favourite...shredded paper. wink

Agreed. My Mrs bike is bloody lethal if you try and ride it before the engine's warmed up a bit and you've got the choke in. Luckily the neighbour the side of our garage/drive is also a biker and his son has the same bike as my Mrs so unlikely to ever complain biggrin

OK maybe i didn't say what i meant correctly... warming at a standstill isn't bad in itself, but treating the engine as if it is fully warmed after doing so is probably the bad bit. There will still be components which are not warmed due to the vehicle being at idle and not on the move.

I live in a block of 8 Victorian workingmans cottages. They are all quite narrow and as a result we share the garden. I used to sit out quite a lot in the summer, as did most of my neighbours did, often sharing drinks, BBQ's, etc.

That was until a new neighbour moved in. She is Indonesian, can't communicate at a reasonable sound level, and generally has managed to piss every one off. In a household of 3, they manage to produce as much crap as the other 7 households combined. Initially she had no problem filling everybody's bins up, until she was tackled about it. We spoke to her a few times about this to no avail. I then gave her a warning of what would happen if she did it again. Lo and behold the police tried to contact us 3 times to say how un-neighbourly it was to dump rubbish on someones doorstep. Like they haven't got enough to do!!

I have been lucky enough to have been ignored by her for a few years now, the most recent communication was when she pulled the race card on me and my wife. I was quite pissed off about this, but not half as embarrassed as her husband, normally a spineless div, who almost dragged her by the arm indoors to give her a proper bollicking.

Anyway, that's a bit of background into not the most favoured neighbour one could hope for. This is what generally greets us at 6.00 am most mornings

E.g the engine may be warm but the gearbox will still be cold

I know someone like that in my office, one of those nice chaps that tried to take the Falkland Islands. Even if he is having a conversation with someone sitting next to him, the whole office can hear him. SHUP UP

Isn't this a 2-stroke thing?? Watching the GP riders doing it on the grid, doesn't it stop the engine 'coking up'?
Of course, it's not going to help if it's your typical GSXR!

Think we're getting too much in to the technical details now biggrin I was just pointing out there can be a good reason for letting the engine warm up a bit before pulling away biggrin

Replace them every other day with gradually smaller and smaller chairs. Or bigger and bigger, whichever way is easiest.

My neighbour on bin day.

Every collection day we put out the appropriate wheelie bin with bags, box and or caddy in the same spot at the end of the drive. I come home from work to find the wheelie bin (emptied) but bags, box and or caddy missing.

I no longer bother hunting up and down the street looking for them thinking they'd blown down the road or the the collection men had left them somewhere else, as our neighbour for what ever reason keeps picking up their own box,bag and caddy along with ours and locks them away behind their gate.

I usually leave it a couple of hours and low and behold if by magic they all re appear at the end of the drive.

Once I am home they go to the effort of putting them back out at the end of the drive for us to collect at our leisure.
