NOT cutting the grass on their front gardens, but keeping the back gardens neat.
No-one can see the back gardens apart from the direct neighbours, but everyone can see the front. silly
Probably because they aren't in the mood for all the smart arse comments....... "you'll make it rain", "you can do mine when you've finished that",.....

Ha ha ha, so original.

Or getting caught by the resident street bore who just always happens to be passing at the right moment every single bloody time, and having to resist imbedding the shears in their neck.
I deserve to be on this for being the person who is a tad ocd about the front and back garden looking tidy! I do get the above comments a lot however and use the same reply every time - 'no problem, get your money out' lol
It's a requirement in our deeds on the new development. I can't see the point of paying so much for a smart new-build house then leaving the garden to look st. It's not as if it would take >10 mins to do the front, to be honest.

During a long spell of cold weather one winter, the guy across the road and I got into a routine of scraping ice from our cars at the same time. Every day it was, "Morning, Peter," "Morning, Richard," scrape, scrape. Then one morning he came out and started on the car and I called, "Morning, Peter," and there was no reply. Nothing. I looked over and everything looked normal except, ah yes, he was wearing stilettos. Purple, sparkly and, I think it's fair to say, big. After a minute or two, he went back inside and shut the door. When he came out again, wearing his usual footwear, he called, "Morning, Richard," and carried preparing his car as normal.

A guy in my village is constantly working on his vehicles. One is an ancient ford ranger pickup and the other a really tatty old c5 estate. Either he's a st mechanic or his vehicles are complete nails that are constantly breaking. Every other day the bonnet is up on one of them and he's underneath it.

No, that was the people next door but one.

I need more stories.

Interesting little community that one. There was a defrocked solicitor at one end. I'll write him up soon.

Our new neighbours are an old couple , they are both very pleasant but insist on telling everyone that they have downsized to live here as if the new house is a bit beneath them , strange as they also admitted they have a small mortgage on the property . The new house they have paid £400 k for so hardly a pokey place in the hood .

I share a driveway with my neighbor and the driveway is rather large, wide, long and slopes down and out to the road. Every winter since i lived there my neighbor has become increasingly, how do i describe it?, lets say 'sheltered'.

He lives alone, about 62 years old with a long gone deceased wife and a son and daughter in their late 20's who may as well not even exist in his life as they only show up during holidays.

Anyway, since day one of me moving in we had a gentleman's agreement regarding how the driveway will be taken of; the agreement was that whoever wakes up first or needs to leave first for work for example, although he is a retired District Attorney, et'al whatever the reason may be, said person will get started on the driveway and of course the second person will join in not long after. And we would have a good time actually; talk good neighborly conversation and such while my OH preps a substantial breakfast for when were finished.

All was well for years until the last few. Now when it snows, and it snows heavy in the area i live, he wont even show up to help until im literally 3/4's the way through. Or even more blatant he will only shovel his area and a path down to the road and then he retreats into his house and doesn't appear again until i have finished all of it.

Or perhaps invite the old boy round for a drink? Must be a pretty lonely existance.

He's not going to be as fit as he once was and if not very active then your muscles lose their strength so shovelling away a large amount of snow is going to knacker him.

Any social housing on your estate? If so their grass will be the least of your worries, just you wait!

I live in a Victorian railway terrace, and next door's boys start screaming and shouting at 630am weekdays and 9am weekends. not cool. They must be about 8 & 10?

Have taken to yelling shut the fk up as loudly as I can. seems to work for a bit. Either that or I can hear Minecraft music through the wall when they aren't outside on the trampoline, again not so bad when its not so early in the morning.

Struggling to see why your neighbour having children, who act as all children tend to act is an odd thing.

They probably think there's this grumpy/weird old git living next door who screams through the wall if they make any noise ( in the privacy of their own home ) or play on the trampoline in their own back garden.

Swearing at small children, such class. You sound like my weapons grade of a neighbour who screams 'Stop fking swearing' over the fence when nobody is swearing who kicks up a fuss everytime soebody tries to enjoy the outside space they are entitled to enjoy.

If his heart is not as strong as it was, gardening, cleaning and snow clearing are too tough. I know. Fortunately I'm sorted but it was an eye opener. Needed a lie down after cleaning the car. frown

Wouldn't mind if they weren't shouting at the top of their lungs, also I don't think I'm adding to their vocabulary, the older once called his brother a fkhead the other night, that was pretty amusing hehe

Also don't yell when they are outside or its not silly AM. They are kids ffs, just dont appreciate waking up to them yelling at each other.
