Was at a Wedding on friday

30 degrees
High Humidity
Outdoor wedding
Sat in direct sunlight for the service

st the bed. I thought I was going to pass out. I only had a white shirt and some light coloured trousers on as well. The groomsmen/best men were wearing full on top hat, tails, waist coat, shirt and those big silk tie things. No idea how they managed to stay standing.

Then again I just cannot do heat. I like it cold.

I am not sure its a genetic thing as my brother absolutely cannot stand heat. He literally sweats buckets and is generally very uncomfortable in any kind of humid heat. It might be that from years and years of swimming, my body is far too used to being able to dump all that body heat and sweat into a large body of cool water. It then tries to do the same in air and fails.

I have very little in the way of bodily insulation as well. After training, especially if training was hard, I will literally lie in bed feeling like I am boiling up, body is generating so much heat! OH loves it though, I am her personal radiator!

fooking hell some of you need to mtfu, its a bit uncomfortable not that bad

Just be thankful we are having good weather!

Ive spent all day in a 32 degree no air con office and have a 18 mile cycle home and its fine

My misses is 36 weeks preggers, she can cope ok

In fact even my dogs with thick fur can manage a run in the sunshine without whining !
It's not a case of manning the fk up you tit, some people feel heat differently. I'm not sure manning the fk up will really help in my situation. You're probably one of these whiney little bhes who complains it's cold when it's 10 degrees outside. tongue out
Blimey no wonder you struggle with the heat if you get yourself so worked up!!

Ask your mum to make you a nice cold squash and in 6 weeks time you will be back at school :P

My body definitely doesn't approve of heat and humidity, and not just since I have become a little porky either.

much prefer sub 20 degrees, preferably around 10-12 (which is clearly short sleeves weather)

I must have Scottish / northern European genes... people tell me I look Danish smile

I'm not great when it is humid, dry heat is fine however humidity kills me and I'm a sweater too; all it takes is a bit more movement such as rushing about at work and that's it, it just drips off; so embarrassing.

Whilst it's nice to have this kind of weather I function much better when it's cold and I actually like cold weather and have a good tolerance for it.

Maybe useful for those of you with dogs but if you put their paws in a basin of cool water it helps them cool down, tough bit is getting them to put their paws in and not just drink it.

My dog with the thick fur is fine, it seems to insulate him against the heat (or he's just to daft to notice it). My dog with the short coat is the one that really suffers with the heat, he's never liked it a lot (he's nearly 11 now) and had a fit on Saturday, which was really worrying. I don't know if it was the heat for sure, but it was at the hottest point on Saturday.
That was a poor example on my half as dogs can suddenly suffer without warning. One of mine deals with hot and cold far better than the other, its the one with with the longer thicker coat!

I grew up in the Scottish Highlands, anything over 20 degrees was a heatwave and 25+ just plain unheard of. Now I live in the Midlands and frankly, I'm struggling to adapt, the summers are seriously not fun for me. I can take it up to about 24-25, so long as I stay in the shade in the heat of the day, but when it gets over that I really suffer badly, especially humid days, those are the worst.

I'm going to the Silverstone Classic on Saturday and the forecast is 25 degrees and sun at present - I can only hope it changes, last year was too hot for me and I'd like to actually be able to look around without feeling like I'm melting this time! Not a lot you can do outside in the sun, drinking lots of water only replaces the pints I sweat away, doesn't actually make me any cooler...

Love this weather at the moment, would be nice if the aircon in the office worked properly but I'll live.

Need a '32 roadster to cruise about in!

No AC - I work from home, and there are a couple of computers running in here. I've got the big fan going on the highest setting, but the dog is lying in front of it and seems to be getting most of the benefit.

Is there something official or a rough guide to how much difference direct sunlight makes to the perception of temperature? I’m thinking about a wind chill factor equivalent i.e. is X but feels like X?

I don’t mind the heat but today’s sunny 25C felt a lot warmer than Friday’s overcast 25C. And in spring a 15C day can feel cold, at least to me, or warm when the sun is shining.

Only 27.4c here, but aircon still has a place in houses in the NW Highlands!

On as I type.

Bliss.
How are the midgies? wink
No rain, so no midges. smile
A rare occurrence! Enjoy while it lasts before the swarms descend. The only thing on God's good earth I am allergic to. I hope the rain holds off when Im up next week!
Living in a forest by a loch I know what it's like. And to be honest it's only a dozen days each summer when they are really bad. But, as you suggest, when they are bad, they are BAD.

However... hope it's like it is now for your visit:

Just back, 4 days of very warm sunshine and 4 days of very showery, heavy days. Not bad for Irvine. Looking at moving to Loch Goilhead, midgie chance high I would imagine?
