What rowing machine gives a lifetime guarantee?

I like the idea of buying a car that would last a lifetime.

Fast/reliable/cheap

I'm sure it would be painfully expensive and slow if you wanted the ultimate reliability smile

Alternatively to these:
- Turboflame lighter
- Good quality old British tools - I have a huge collection of King Dick and Williams Superslim spanners and ratchets. Chrome vanadium and completely indestructible
- Any "original style" Land Rover - the older the better biggrin
- Or Belstaff. I have a 40 year old Trialsmaster still going strong

I'd also like to add:

- A proper lawnmower, such as a Suffolk Punch, Dennis or Atco cylinder mower
- Books. A good quality world atlas, dictionary, thesaurus and encyclopedia - all hardback and leather bound
- Glassware - cant beat some nice cut glass whiskey and sherry decanters

I was given a full Noritake Dinning set with all the bells of whistles that was my Grandmothers before - It's never been used by us and has suffered some breakages during the multi moves we made over the years.

Such a shame. It's stunning but completely useless for us.

If I wasn't in Dubai, I'd have stuck it up on ebay by now.

All of the above will be out of date by the time they are printed! I do like looking at old atlases though, My parents have a cold war era leather bound volume.

It is amazing how few countries there were in Europe!

I'd bet my balls to a barn dance my £50 G Shock would out-live anything Switzerland puts out in a like-for-like test of abuse and is more accurate than anything with cogs in it.

How do you suggest we continue to avoid that risk?

People could actually put forward sensible suggestions for things that are indeed tough and long-lasting, rather than just spouting bks about hyper expensive tat to win PH points - a lot of the suggestions so far aren't robust at all, they're just so bloody expensive people wouldn't dare give them any sort of treatment or put them in harms way - [PH Style] Oh, I was going to by Timmy a Cadbury's Crème Egg for Easter this year, but I justified getting him a Fabergé Imperial Egg - they last forever you know!
