Conspiracy Theories for Cynics

F-117
3 CFIT losses due to "spatial disorientation" ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F-117_Nighthawk). This seems odd; I imagine that the USAF would only have used their best and most experienced pilots in these planes, not the kind of guys who would suffer from disorientation. I heard someone in the pub a few weeks back seriously discussing 9/11 being a conspiracy. The basic premise was that the bloke at the bar was an architect and buildings don't fall down that way, which of course gave him credibility and the final word with his audience.
Now, I'm certainly no architect, but I did wonder whether there are different kinds of architect, different types of qualification and experience, so perhaps someone who specialises in drawing up plans for loft conversions and granny flats, for example, might not have quite the same knowledge as someone who, I don't know, designs skyscrapers with 110 floors that might have some specific design features to ensure that if they're going to collapse, they don't take out the surrounding ten blocks with them.
Fortunately I realised I'd had a few, and kept out of the discussion. And to give that bloke the benefit of the doubt, I have no idea what qualifications and experience he actually has, I've based my massive assumptions on where he was and how he appeared at the time. No doubt next time I see him, he'll be on the TV discussing how he designed a massive skyscraper somewhere.

Like what?
Theres plenty out there I watched a good documentary about it on ch5 One part they shown footage of investigators at a range trying to recreate the fatal head shot with the same rifle/bullets they found it very difficult to do so.
Its one of the very few Conspiracy theories I'd believe.

The 7/7 attacks in the UK - seems all a bit to convenient that there was supposedly a training drill going on that involved fake bombs going off at the very same exact locations the real bombs detonated. Now thats a big coincidence!
This is a classic example of how a conspiracy theory is formed. Real events/occurences are twisted or altered to fit the theory and then quoted as absolute fact. The training exercise (codenamed 'Hanover') took place the week before the attack (July 1st and 2nd). It was a simulation of a terrorist attack on the Underground and the potential impact that could cause the Met Police from Officers being unable to travel to work. None of the locations matched the locations of the 7/7 attack (training locations were Waterloo, Embankment and St. James Park underground stations).

Plus, don't forget the magic bullet that apparently went back and forth entering and exiting several times on two people.
Hasn't that particular bit been disproven due to the tiny offset seat the chap in front was in, or something?Ultimately Conspiracy Theories are fun, but nonsense, if you really want to find a proper, Conspiracy you need to look towards big businesses and the like - governments are almost without exception made up of 2-3 different groups who'd cut the other throat for a sniff of power and change leadership every few years and yet these Theorists believe that they'd set aside the chance to destroy the others chance of election for decades to help them cover up the fact the faked the landings or killed a President.

It always comes down to 'WHO EMPTIES THE BINS?'
every conspiracy would have someone involved, somewhere, with more to be gained by talking.
I have a work colleague who believes the lot: lizard people, chem trails, the works. every conspiracy would have someone involved, somewhere, with more to be gained by talking.
My argument to her is along similar lines: any conspiracy that big would have to be run by the public sector, who struggle to do anything legitimate on time and budget.
Any huge conspiracy would have been scuppered by now by some idiot middle manager leaving a laptop on a train.

They must've checked themselves, decided that the longer distance backs their theory up and spouted the nonsense knowing full well that they were talking nonsense.

I still think there is something bloody odd about Doctor David Kellys death especially the hidden Postmortem Report.
I am NOT saying Tony Blair had him bumped off or anything silly like that...but...something really odd about the whole thing.
I am with you on this one I am NOT saying Tony Blair had him bumped off or anything silly like that...but...something really odd about the whole thing.

I have no opinion on Dr. Kelly’s death either way, but when it was on the news - I casually mentioned it to a long standing easy going friend who has connections to the department where he worked…I am NOT saying Tony Blair had him bumped off or anything silly like that...but...something really odd about the whole thing.
I have never been shut down so quickly in all my life… Nothing more has been said on this topic between us since.

Probably some truth to all the global posturing is used purely to prop up the oil price. Makes a huge difference in places like Russia who can't afford for it to drop below $100 a barrel and still be solvent. Small change to chuck a few soldiers over the order to destabilize Ukraine or ship a few bombs to Syria etc. I also read that the Ukraine fighter jets used to shadow passenger planes in a big game of chicken so that the rebels/Russians wouldn’t shoot at them before they split off to drop boms of their own. Sounds like it is perfectly feasible that there was a Ukraine jet in or around the passenger jet which caused the rebel shot to be fired though assume the passenger jet wasn’t the target. Everyone likes a nice black and white story though. Nobody come forward with their conclusive proof of who fired yet.

I had a huge argument with a hippy once about the mythical floating garbage patch in the middle of the pacific ocean where all the plastic goes to die... he was positive that there was such a thing despite being the size of London and yet its never been spotted by satellite or ship.
Reported often, not seen if myself but seen the pictures.http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2009/07/09...
Doesn't mean it is a solid block of iceberg like plastic but an area where the junk tends to collect and circulate with a high proportion of debris.
