Even our two little moggies do stuff that is incredible.
My cat is really dumb, but there's always an exception to the rule hehe
In terms of physical ability and senses cats are amazing creatures, however, they just roll about on the floor, sleep and occasionally chase a ball around the floor. They are dumb...

I always wonder how we must look to cats though, assuming they could actually think on that level. People are supremely intelligent compared to all other life on Earth yet we choose to kick balls around fields, get drunk and write crap on internet forums, among other pointless pursuits. We're dumb too...
I can't deny that her ability to smell dreamies from a different room, her ability to jump from half way up the stairs down to the living room and her propensity for power oversteer when tearing around the coffee table are commendable.

However, even after seven years, she still hasn't figured out that she can't get to our gerbils. She'll stalk (wiggly butts engaged), pounce, then look surprised when her head makes a not unfunny *THUNK* against the side of the gerbilarium (fish tank filled with aspen and gerbil jobbies).

yup - cats can be dumb... one of ours can get in using the cat-flap - just hasn't figured out after 8 years then she can get out that way too frown

I wouldnt do a 10 acre field with a strimmer either, to be fair.

Besides, whilst a scythe would make your arms ache somewhat, a heavy vibrating strimmer does a good job of making them want to fall off after 10 minutes or so too
