That's a bit spooky, I was thinking about doing something very similar last week. Basically you take a tank, totally submerge it in the pond, turn it upside down and lift it up out of the water, supporting it on a stand (or whatever) but making sure a few inches are below the surface when you account for evaporation, waves etc. My idea was to use some taller cylindrical tubes though.

Bit of a bugger to clean mind you biggrin

Just put the tank in the water upside down, then turn it the right way up, lift out of the water (not all the way) and support at the base.
