177 cars at 20% capacity = 1 train car at 125% capacity. Not really a fair comparison.
Entirely reflective of reality though. Whenever this sort of comparison comes up, the rabid pro-car lot always come out with the usual strawman crap about how everyone is supposed to give up their cars in favour of biking or public transport for every journey. Fact is that cars are totally necessary in the majority of situations, but if you have 1000 people going from roughly the same place to roughly the same place at roughly the same time, then private cars really don't make a lot of sense.

There will be 177 reasons why those people are in 177 cars.
And none of them will be valid enough for some.

I'll use Public Transport when convenient. Mostly when in London. But 9 times out of 10 outside of London it's not convenient.
For example, my current commute to work takes 55 mins by car. The same journey by public transport would take 3+ hours and would still involve a taxi.

Not a gif, just a lot of expletives (read swear word) the "Drop" gif. p1stonhead said:
That little girl is the daughter of a skateboard rider. He is modifying that car to make it go faster for her.
There is an Instagram with a lot of those vids of her racing up and down the road outside their house.
As soon as I think of his name I'll put up a link.
[I'm sure I already have put a link up in here once already]

can think of other reasons why public transport might be unpopular...
Whenever I make a journey for which there's a convenient and reasonably timely public transport alternative, the slightly higher cost compared to petrol and wear-and-tear should be offset by the convenience of getting there without having to deal with our roads.Unfortunately, I'm never travelling on my own on such journeys. That means that the £142 minimum to get me and my wife to London and back will never compete against the £75 of me driving us there.
