I watched Waterloo Road on TV last night. There was a kid on there who was obsessed with online games and being lauded for it and good at it. He was the quiet slightly socially awkward geeky one. Sadly, it reminded me of this thread
Been shocked at how many girls on POF love online games; there's someone out there for everyone. That said a girl would need to be pretty fit before I'd consider dating some World of Warcraft nut nut. Gaz. said:

I find it interesting to see the counter view. I like to challenge and be challenged.
I also thought that the bullying of the Uni student for 20 pages was unjustified.
So long story short you're just trolling, glad to get that cleared up I also thought that the bullying of the Uni student for 20 pages was unjustified.
I think anyone who 'trolls' by boasting about how he is frightened of girls and doesn't want to have sex with them, is so awful at it that he deserves to be allowed to stay and continue to be an inspiration to the poor people on this thread that it could be worse.

Couples marrying more recently are less likely to get divorced. The more recent the marriage, the less likely it is to end in divorce. For example, those marrying after 2006 have a 5% likelihood that they will have divorced by their 5th anniversary, compared to an 8% likelihood for those married between 1987 and 1995.
As long as marriages have a five year life that's a dead useful statistic! Meanwhile, back in the real world...

You wouldn't deem a job a failure if you weren't in it for life (any more) so why a marriage?
Good point of view, never considered that. I suppose the failure of a marriage can cost you an fking fortune... That would arguably less likely to happen if you leave a job.

I'd sooner not get married full stop.

I'm not sure why online gaming is different from any other hobby. vonuber said:

To me, it seems now that social stereotypes are less confirmative and more varied. ie, you can play computer games and still be a socialite & interesting person.
Is CB still lurking in these parts? He said he'd re-write my profile over a year ago and I'm still empty handed! bd.

That may not help much.
In Oz, after 2 years a De facto has the same rights & entitlements as a wife. A real trap if you don't know about it.
I am currently living in Australia and I personally think this is totally unfair. I live with an Aussie girl who owns her own property and I personally wouldn't try and get my hands on any of her money if we split up after 2 years. In Oz, after 2 years a De facto has the same rights & entitlements as a wife. From what I understand, it isn't as simple as after living together for 2 years and 1 day you are entitled to half of the other persons money. I believe there are lots of variables such as time together, age, amount of money you have put in etc. which goes into the calculation.
And women in Australia don't understand why it is incredibly difficult to get a man to commit to a relationship!! Have to say dating over here is different to the UK as it seems men call the shots in Australia and decide who they are going to go out with. It seems totally different in the UK where all you seem to get are L'oreal generation entitlement princesses.

I think "hobbies" are a problem generally for the ladiesThe female definition is something like "time spent away from me, not doing things for me"
An activity is fine...a weekly night off to play sport or something.....or a regular activity that doesnt eat up more than an hour or so a few times a week (gym, etc).....but once a hobby becomes "a couple of hours a night/most weekends" etc.....women (or men) have a right to ask "what about me"
It's not necessarily World of warcraft, but I get the point. Loads of my o'h's girl mates are into their Xbox/Playstation/Wii/whatever across a variety of game types, some online, some just building st, more Sims than Minecraft.
She plays Guitar Hero every so often, I quite like the music so if I'm around I'll sit in and watch/listen.
I think to assume that girls cant/shouldnt game is a dangerous stereotype and would probably be a conversation killer if it's crowbarred in to first date chat
