Someone posted how disgusting it was that after sex her darling husband didn't fully wash his undercarriage, so bought a beaker from Ikea to be left on the bedside table...
I read that as "penis breaker", not beaker

Dirty Gerty from number thirty?

Might be showing my age here...
Had the same issue with a Margo. Just couldn't get past it. Fit as you like but you can't scream it out in a moment of passion without killing the mood.

Yep. You will barely call her by her name. When you're with her in the early days it'll probably be just you two, so you won't start every sentence with "Gertrude...". Once you're comfortable enough to go out with friends, you'll be used to it, and being in the honeymoon period will maybe call her darling or whatever instead. I forget my Mrs's name all the time. She does mine. We laugh about it.

Gertrude is quite bad, wonder where her parents were from, Eastern Europe, Germany?
I went out with Joyce once, a bit of a goer and nowhere near as old as her name suggested!

You'll have to use a pet name, just not anything bovine related.

But please, dont complain that you cant find a girlfriend or a shag if you're not prepared to make yourself more attractive. If you want to choose option A, there is plenty of advice already in this thread on what to change.

This is the bit that astounds me.

It's accepted that the single women are generally unicorn hunters.

So find out what a unicorn looks like. And get as close to that as you can.

In William Shakespeare's play Hamlet, Gertrude is Hamlet's mother and Queen of Denmark. wink

Get in there! biggrin

Women tend to be more desperate than men, before going out we spend 15 mins having a st, shower and a shave while they have been spending since the am putting in hair extensions, whacking on makeup and waxing bit's of their body we'd refuse to for a winnign lottery ticket.

It's more a case of what they don't want than what they do want. A good date mainly involves not doing anything wrong as apposed to doing anything right.

Confident, fun, content, well dressed, well groomed - NOT odd, weird or hugely drunk.

If you manage this then you'll be ahead of 99% of blokes in bars.

Yes there is some fun stuff you can do to up your chances but I feel it may beyond the scope of this thread given some of the issues we are dealing with require more basic attention. Hair cuts, dressing like you're from this century etc...

Ex stripper mate was going out witha right ugly arse hole, not loaded either. In fact allot of my fit female friends have gone out with guys where I've just thought 'REALLY?!?'.

Fact of the matter is these guys actually asked them out rather than spending their time cementing their views on how all attractive women are snakes with tits / unicorn hunters and all other matter of view which will ensure a lack of bedroom action.

Women tend to be allot less bothered with looks than guys, especially when they geta bit older (late 20's).

Seriously - can we have some good news of some epic lays on this thread?!

That's the point though. For all those sticking fingers in their ears singing la la whilst insisting they want someone who wants them as they are, then accept that you're probably not what the majority of women are chasing, else you wouldn't be faced with the situation of bewilderment.

A st, shower and shave is part of it, of course. But I think a more significant investment in time is to get into good shape, dress well, a decent hair cut (that suits your face) and some standard attention to detail that requires some dedication and an ability to observe others. It's not about being desperate, or even solely related to pulling women, it's about being motivated to make the best of the hand you were dealt. Some do, some don't. Peel back the veneer and there's little between any 2 human beings, but outwardly the differences can be vast, male and female. You can makr it down to vanity, or refuse to play up to the concept; it is what it is. We've all seen the film/music star before and after pics when the make-up is off, or they've had too many pies and they've eased off the gym workouts, or the bed head is there after a long flight etc.

I think it depends on the age of the women. From when I joined pof in November there are some good looking women in their 40's still on there now looking for guys. As is often stated women get hundreds of replies so these women are not desperate. Also if they were less bothered about looks they would have found somebody from the hundreds of guys. IMO they are defintely unicorn hunters. It's like the joke about the shop with guys that are slightly better on each higher floor. The women just keep going up to the next floor looking for somebody better/perfect.

The online thing gives a very skewed perspective. I'm no oil painting and I've done ok on these sites but nothing compared to the success I've had in out in town.

Much of what women find attractive - confidence, body language - the way you conduct yourself - is not evident from a profile and looks become disproportionately important.

Of all the sage dating advice I ever received the best was "It's a numbers game".

I saw another poster use this Winston Churchil quote and I think it is eminently applicable to here.

"Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm"

Pretty sure that was me you saw! smile

I love that quote so much and its so true, looking at my (admittedly short) life so far, every bad decision and every mistake I have ever made has only ever lead to something better and made me who I am today... And I'm happy with the person I've become and I don't like to think about who I'd be had I not have had all of those failures and setbacks!

Great quote. How old are you fella?

Anyways, super hot french creature back to mine tonight - decade younger and a vagueish date sorted for next week. Oh my god she's hot. It actaully hurts. Being single sucks in so many ways but with a bit of confidence it turns awesome pretty fast.

Had whole table of english girls say "punching above you're weight eh fella" along with the security too. Yes, but it's easy when you make em laugh and have a good night.

I can't believe some of you people use real names.

Always use a pet name, & the same one with every lady.

Nothing kills the mood quicker than moaning Mary, when you are with Helen, or Dorothy when with Debbie.

Hell some will even realise that they are Darling not Honey.
