She said she didn't go, spent all day yesterday in bed unwell.
That doesn't mean that she definitely didn't.

Could just be a hangover but she doesn't think you'd find that an acceptable reason to drop out.

Is that really a good idea?

What would Ron Swanson do?

Got to agree here, if you're getting on then give her the benefit of the doubt!

Right, thought i'd try my luck with POF last weekend, amazed when i quickly got chatting to a lovely woman (a Solicitor), seemed to have tons in common, texted her last Monday, she said she had a hen do on Saturday so i suggested Sunday lunchtime (today), she agreed, seemed a long time away when we are only meeting for a coffee but she said she had her parents staying with her (they left thursday)

So that was last Monday, we then spent ALL DAY Tuesday texting, from about 10 in the morning to 10 at night, got on like a house on fire, she's really quite funny and we seem to be on the same wave length mentally.

Pretty quiet on Wednesday so i texted her around dinner time, she phones me and we then spend a good hour chatting on the phone, again great, funny, witty, educated girl, we seem totally compatable, cant wait till Sunday we both agree'd.

Texted last night to say she's not well and probably wont make it tomorrow.

Texted thismorning (Sunday) to say she definitely wont make the date today.

I didn't bother replying, she texted a wee while ago to say she hadn't heard from me, i text her back to say "text or phone me if and when you want to meet".

She could be genuinely unwell but i cant help being cynical and thinking she is just stringing me along and playing games rolleyes, also cant help being really disapointed, told a few mates last week i had a date with a Solicitor, will need to now tell them it didn't happen rolleyes
Blimey, seems like you had an initial 'connection'.
Why don't YOU call her to see how she's feeling.
I'm sure she'd appreciate the call if it's genuine illness.

I know now i should have gave her the benefit of the doubt, my first attempt at internet dating couldn't help feeling cynical (despite seemingly getting on great), sent her a text saying sorry last night she then sent me a long rant text offended about me thinking she was someone who messed people about and being angry about not asking how she is feeling, sent her a text thismorning asking how she's doing and nothing back.

After all that it looks like i've been blown out of the water due to one single, stupid, thoughtless text rolleyes

markgenesis - take the positives from this. You appear to have attracted a professional, sparky, bright woman.

If you've blown it this time, you can do it again. Get straight back in the saddle, as it were.

OK, I'm a month into this Online Dating game!

My thoughts so far!

Happn - Useless unless you live in a larger city. Phone went nuts in London, but nought where I live. London was a day trip!
Tinder - Initial 'matches' have led to nothing. Why do people 'swipe right', match and then never reply to messages?
OKCupid - Removed from my phone. Zero action!
POF - I like. Lots of contact with ladies who seem human and reply.

What are other people's experiences?

Happn - action... But not a lot it was very new at the time, mostly inhabited by birds I'd already seen on tinder who were bored.
Tinder - action daily wide variety of all sorts, no idea since the swipe limits came in though
POF - council action and slunting with the odd lost civilised female
OKC - arty creative types and teachers abound, a refined POF

Still seeing a bird I met on tinder 7 months ago, positively long term by my standards.

You are right, when she texted in the morning to cancel i went out to work on the car for the rest of the day and spent hours dwelling on it, i did act like a moody arse.

Done now though, need to move on and learn from it.

Your gain is out loss. This thread isn't the same without you're shameful antics. Not seen CC on here for a while either, did he get a bird?

'Bird'. Brilliant. It's like the 1970s all over again. I've got the Benny Hill theme tune in my brain.

So I've fked up.

There is a PT at the gym who I've been flirting with for the last couple of months, got chatting last night and she's invited me out on a date. Well, I say date - it's a Team GB fitness workout. Usually just stick to weights with a bit of running. After looking for more info it course I came up with this prize quote.

"think of all the exercises you know such as squats, lunges, planks and push-ups and then add about 300 per cent more torture to them and you will get the idea of what happened during this class" (I never do any of these exercises)

Feel she is struggling under the misapprehension I'm some kind of gym bunny where actually to describe myself as a dilettante would be generous. My ruse will be discovered on Friday for sure, all the chatting about how incredible Sweet Potatoes are as a source of low GI carbs and holding my beer belly in whever I see her is going to all be for nothing.

FML.
