I dont know if its that complicated.

Looking back at the ones I had success with it was the opener that just made the assumption she would respond that did best. The person I ended up with for 8 months had zillions of matches (400+ on tinder when she deleted her account!) - My opener followed her pinging up as a match at 10am. I just opened with "shouldnt you be at work?" She said she was off work with flu. We chatted that morning and where on drinks 3 days later.

You can try to hard. And good pics.....you need good pics. And the women all moan about guys shirtless and wearing shades in every pic - but it works (unless you look rough!) My profile pic was me from a Parkrun - Nike combat top, Oakleys, sweaty....worked.

And gentle teasing is always good - One had a picture of her wrinkley basset hound with her....I just opened with "Your dog is melting" Women like to be teased if its fun and good natured and they love defending things they love. So its easy to start a chat over that. Obvioulsy, teasing about hobbies/pets is cool - "ha, you're pretty fat" is not the way to go

Probably not - but if you are not a million miles from in shape, 3 months of working out will change the hit rate you encounter no end.

fk that, working out? I'm overweight and currently skint and it does me no harm at all. Does anyone have time for that exercise rubbish between dating, working and drinking these days?

But then again I'm a cheeky and have had pixel pusher photoshop all of my pics to make me look rugged and handsome... obviously my charm and wit work wonders along with wine and rohypnol when it comes to the actual dating part.

play to strengths... however if we were talking about someone who was boring, ugly, short and also fat, working out is about all they can do, and can only help. Most women around the 'bell curve' don't a bit of a spare tyre but it needs to be offset by jokez, decent garmz and mad bed skillz (probably a full wallet won't be an issue either).

This is not about me - its about the guys who go on sites like Tinder with a belly and 2 chins and wonder why they dont get the hot girls.

that was meant in jest.

the ones that don't get any seem to have not just a belly and 2 chins, but a butterzface, receding hairline and zero bantz

I really hope that was meant either ironically or in jest.

I remember the day, not so long ago when this thread barely left the front page of the lounge. Now, dead as a door nail but then so are many others.

No sense of humour failure with this callsign.

Maybe you're just not that funny?

Hey all, new to this thread as I've just split up with the girlfriend after 2 years. Only 21 though so got plenty of time for debauchery left!. Just joined tinder and already talking to about 15 different girls on there so this should be fun and hopefully ill have some funny stories to post after the weekend.

I am bloody glad that the old thread has gone!

I'm currently chatting to someone I got talking to on eHarmony. She appears very normal, but works long shifts were she isn't allowed her phone on her, so can be a while before I get a reply from texts.

Have half agreed on meeting up already, no day set yet.

Bit of a downside, she lives 50 odd miles away, mostly motorway so not that bad.

I will update, properly after the weekend due to work.

I'm in my mid 20's and after being single for a while due to my hectic life, I was convinced into trying online dating. I tried POF, didn't really give it a chance and quickly gave up on that, plus I found the girls extremely slutty.

I then joined tinder when it first started and was less saturated and I got a lot of matches and got a few numbers, also had a few hook up opportunities but my long term "game" let me down, as in I would use good openers and do the usual small talk but eventually the convo would die down or when it got to arranging dates, the girl would back off. after 250 matches my account got messed up and I restarted. Currently have 70 matches but still no success, I just don't have a good game.

I decided to join match.com thinking the people are more serious and I have to say it's been a massive fail. The girls seem extremely picky and are mostly looking for guys in their late 20's. Hardly any replies and a few times where I did get some good replies and actually had a decent convo, where we exchanged messages for a number of days, I weirdly had all the girls just stop contact.

tbh the whole experience has killed my confidence.

250 matches???? 70 matches????

and no drinks??? what the hell are you saying to them?

A match means "I am on Tinder...looking to meet men.....and I like the look of you" - There's not a lot more you need to do!

The opener is just used to see which ones will talk to you - plenty of women over swipe or just look at the first pic (I do) - as soon as a match comes up they then look properly. Personally, this sees me unmatch about 70% that I swiped yes to straight away....but some women just leave the matches there. So the opener sorts out who is going to say hi.

Next is a chat....but that chat needs to move to "so, drinks?" within a VERY short time. They don't have to sort it there and then but if it is EVER going to happen they will hint early on....and most will sort it there and then.

You have nothing to loose, just ask to meet the second you get a hint...and thats anything! a Ha! an smile anything positive....ask!

well you seem to be taking it a touch personally, when it wasn't meant at anyone in particular. What's with that?

For those not liking Tinder try Happn, it's location based so it alerts you when people have passed by your location relatively new but picking up a lot of users in the cities. It's like Tinder in that you have to both like each others pics but it tells you where you passed them etc and could be great for stalking purposes if you're that way inclined.
