I once went on a speed date in Grimsby, there were 10 females, 2 were 'OK' and the other 8......monsters!

I clocked my eye on one of these monsters who wore a huge flowery dress that looked like it was from the 70's, she had grey greasy hair and she was going to be number 9, throughout the whole night I was wondering what she'd be like and guessed that she probably owned about 20 cats.....I was right, she stunk of cat piss!

never again! I'll stick to 'Plenty of Freaks' and take my chance on there biggrin

So I've been persuaded by my mate to go to a speed dating event with him. Never been to one, and I've no idea what to expect. I booked it and got an email describing how it works, and it's how I figured it would work (3 mins per "date", possibly 25 in total). Just wondering if anyone here has experienced such an event, and any positive outcomes? I'm not going in with high hopes, I'm in no rush to meet someone, but just curious about other folks' experiences
Dragged by a mate who wanted to go (and paid for me). It was pretty crap.

Have a few beers in the bar downstairs, save yourself £20 and chat to the girls when it has finished.

Nope to win at tinder you need to spend a year as a user without getting an STD

Honestly? I don't know.

She acted like a bit of a dick on the weekend, and despite saying sorry a lot for it and still wanting to go i am less than interested. The entire thing has changed the way I view her and I qustion if i can seriously be arsed.

Anyway she's away for the next couple of days and says she will contact me when she returns, I'll see what happens.

Lol what happened? If the money is already spent, I'd just suck it up and go - just make sure you get both your e tickets printed and if it really is a nightmare when you're with her check into a different hotel and fly back alone.

Do all of the single blokes who are on this thread a favour, explain why she acted like a dick, then send her a message telling her you're taking someone else, she's good as a friend but she should have realised it wasn't going to go further, to text you when she's nearby for a coffee etc. Friendzone in reverse, tank THAT bh! I'm sure many of the suit-wearing, facebook-stalking, nice-guys-who-need-walking-through-every-step-of-their-lives on here would take some comfort from it...

To be fair, I've done immediate post-work drink dates and arrived suited. Not had a bad reaction.
Similar situation, what about the tie yes or no?
