Story here about niche dating sites:

http://www.bbc.com/news/business-34212764

I'm not sure womenbehindbars.com or mulletpassions.com would get much interest here but DateBritishGuys.com might be of interest. It's for American women seeking men in the UK and vice versa, and you know how much the yanks love a British accent. The site currently has 25,000 members, including 6,000 men and 19,000 women, and it's free for men to use...

Bizarrely I joined that on Monday....not so sure there shall be a sense of humour match but thought it might be amusing if nothing else. And a month in Toronto in summer convinced me I had a magic cape when it came to the accent.

Erm, why does he get 100 hours of community service and a 325 quid fine and she get a £100 fine?

Am I being a bit thick here, the females are in the US who pay to join to meet blokes in the UK who subscribe for free? Are they really going to fly over here for a date, or vice versa? I assume the US ladies who are already in the UK don't need this site. Unless they are very stupid. Are british blokes the new Thai brides?

Sounds like she pleaded guilty and he went not guilty.

Going back a couple of pages about travelling, it took me a fking hour to do 4.2 miles on Tuesday to get to hers. Bloody saw the traffic after I had committed to coming off the roundabout frown.

Things are going well though.

Question for all of you serial daters.

Having been out of the dating game for over 10 years I've yet to experience the delights of online dating. Everyone I've ever dated I had previously met them in real life in bars/clubs etc. first, so initial contact had already been made.

How do you greet a woman you have never met for the first time?

Seems like an incredibly trivial question but I cant find a universally agreed on etiquette for, which could be a quite an awkward and uncomfortable interaction.

A handshake just seems a bit awkward.

Dare say one would do better with genuine simple country folk like this than with the standard over-made-up online duckface.

I always kiss them on the cheek, and usually something along the lines of 'Hello...'.

< 35 years old, a hug ...
> 35 years old, that odd kiss-but-miss both cheeks sort of European greeting?

I don't know. I'm firmly in the category where you can get by with a hug!

ETA: Don't overdo the hug. No tight squeezing, no sniffing her neck, no lengthy 9 second long embraces ...

Pah, grab a handful of hair, spin her round, throw her over your shoulder and carry her back to the van spanking her arse as you go.
