Not quite a Match.com or similar but rather on Tumblr.
So for the last 5 years basically I have been texting this girl. She lives in Kent, I live in Newbury.
On Tumblr (a picture blog) I reposted some Outnumbered (bbc one comedy thing) saying how it was really funny, she stumbled across it, we started messaging and eventually moved onto texting.
I fell into a 6 month relationship with some other girl, wasn't really that serious but nevertheless. I was still texting daily and developed feelings for this girl. I felt she was doing the same for me.
Then I was single for a couple of years and ended up being with another girl for a year, it was quite a serious relationship but also completely ruined me when we broke up. But again never the less I was still texting this girl (whom I'd never met or even seen a picture of) daily. I'm not talking like little "hi, hows you" texts, I'm talking huge conversations about loads of random s
te, the kind of texts that are like "essays".
For all I know she was actually a he and called Steve but as I was between 20 and 24 during these times I thought I had somewhat of an idea and would be able to cotton on, being very dubious of everything and quite a cynical person.
Despite being in a relationship with this other girl I never really felt it was right, we were arguing weekly and it was pretty ste to be honest. I always felt alone, she was always distracted by other things/people. I got frustrated and became very short tempered with her, eventually we said enoughs enough and split up
Anyway, last year Kent girl and I had arranged to go to Edinburgh together but I was about one month into the "ex" relationship so I had to cancel. I did feel awful. But yeah. We had an argument and it became pretty clear to me she was emotionally invested in the whole trip as she was very upset.
Anyway, when me and "ex" broke up, I told to the girl I had been texting, by now we are literally telling each other everything that happens in our lives like you would with a significant other. I also said I had feelings for her for so long and didn't really know what to do, and was fed up of not worrying it wouldn't be reciprocated or whatever.
Anyway she said she felt the same and wanted to hang out over Summer.
Well we actually met up just over a month ago. We had a day in London - Everything went awesome. Like we were always together, Now we're officially together :-)
Must be the longest courting period, over 4 years! We both have our own issues, anxiety and what not and we are both in good places now so probably the right time. I feel I can be completely at peace with her, you know sometimes you might want to mention something but you feel awkward about it, well I've never had that with this girl from Kent, we tell each other literally everything and we are very understanding it seems towards each other, I guess because we are so similar. Everything feels so natural, I guess it's because we know each other so well and just have a good time together.
I really hope this is the last relationship I am in or I'll be back in here with all you bds.

So I figured they didn't have many members and cancelled my subscription. I'm in my 40s though so perhaps it's an age thing, maybe for younger people there are more close by matches.
