All women over 30 are ugly and all men age like fine wine and become increasingly attractive to women the longer they spend on their sofa eating chips and wking.

Now we've cleared that one up I'd like to bring things back on topic.

Just getting back into the dating game after a few months out, various fun and games over the last couple of weeks with a double crazy diva a friend set me up with on my birthday party (serious drama by second date so not going down that path) and a few reasonable dates which haven't gone anywhere.

Just matched up on POF with a rather attractive women, 28, "isn't seeking a relationship or any kind of commitment" and owns a cat too. Basically perfect for my current requirements. How done the typical hot lady profile thing of putting "Ask me" in her description...

Usually have some kind of thread to lead onto based on their blurb, under the circumstances this is what I've come up with. Piss taking and improving of "Bantz" gladly received.

Given this if POF I'm stuck between sending a cock pick, a long message involving exceptional oversharing or something short and dull which shows I've skimmed your profile.

With the crap "Ask me" description you'd deserve any of them. Then again you have a cat and haven't broken any of the 'crazy test' rules for POF I have so thought I'd say hi wink

Ok, I know you want to see it.

My crazy test on POF is generally headlines along the lines of "Kissed too many frogs" or "Not going to be hurt again" or a description which includes the term "work hard, play hard" / "I like staying and but I like going out too". Gives her something to come back to.

Gretchen or Council Baby would be ideal at this point...

Edit / bit pissed so being daft enough to put a link to my profile for critique for a limited time only. Flame away wink

If that's you as fine wine I dread to think of what you looked like as a bottle of Blue Nun.

I like how people who are portraying how above the POF regular routine they are...are actually on there swimming with the other fish in the first place. But hey, why limit yourself? I just think the idea of trying to be too cool to engage in the norms - while still using the service - makes you look a wee bit precious. Like "hey, I don't HAVE to be here...". Which might attract its own kind of crazy, to be honest.

I don't see what's wrong with the profile, personally. What do people think he's doing wrong?

All those photos. Which one is him? By the time you get past the "I'M SPORTY AND ZANY" and the cats (proving you're neither) and the group photos you're ready to look for the next POF profile that more clearly identifies the person.

Given the surprisingly tame responses it can't be too bad!

Need a few more pictures for the profile, going on holiday in a couple of weeks so should have a few better ones to use when I get back.

My thinking is that if a girl likes cats then its a big plus and if she doesn't we're fked anyway as I'm stuck with those two. Profile is a bit zany but have tried to keep it fun, most of the competitions profiles read like a CV only more dull. Could talk more about my interests though that always comes across as show-offy and probably pretty dull for anyone who doesn't share them.

Would banging on about how amazing cars/skydiving/scuba diving etc really be attractive?

Yea that's a big fail on many of the girls profiles I see, but for me only when it's clearly an ex on some trip to Venice or a romantic meal for two.

Just a bunch of mates and a pic of me not looking too ropey (relatively speaking!), assuming they will read it more like that than some kind of double date haha

Cheers for the feedback so far. All been very restrained for PH (so far...)

With the recent news about the rapist and lack of support from match.com - could I ask if anyone has felt threatened with online dating?...or has expected sexual favours on the first date?

I think its daft to regard Match (or others) as anything other than a means to a meet - If the guy met his victims in clubs would they be to blame????

I've had dates from Tinder and dates from "real" life and theres no difference (other than Tinder conversation is a fun icebreaker)
