It puzzles me immensely why the PH men posting in the thread are all single and 'not having much luck'. Quite bizarre. What with your slender toned bodies, six pack abs women can only dream of, chiselled features and scintillating personalities. It pains me to say, and I feel for you I really do, but, perhaps you need to lower your standards or just accept that all the striking, fit and fabulous women enjoy the company of down to earth men with a few extra pounds. Such is life.
Who says we're all single and 'not having much luck'? scratchchin
Who's denying their toned physique, six pack, chiselled features and scintillating personality?

Don't pay? How does that work? I Thought you couldn't message anyone without paying?

Certainly last year you could do a profile and send messages but not receive any, so if you send your email you then do comms outside of the site. The free weekends too - explain you've only got 2 days so they need to do via email.

I've said before I never paid for POF or Match and did very well on it for a long time!

Match dead in your area? They don't seem to have had an advertising campaign in a long time now.

No new profiles in ages, so just the usual jaded, window shopping, unicorn hunters who are now in the final months of their 12 month deal around this way (from the last campaign match had) worse than pof at the moment! and that's saying something.

Tinders the same, has net dating gone the way of the dodo and Salsa?
As well as the unicorn hunters there's the women who won't receive messages. What's the point in being on a dating site if you're not going to accept messages? Strange.
Just an ego booster I guess to see how many messages they get.

what's the point of sending a message if you can't get a response? dick pic broadcast? Actually if you had your phone number tattooed onto the side of your dick you might be on to something... scratchchin

they have algorithms to prevent you from doing that, the like of which have been around for a long time so you can't just get away with free accounts. Wake up yourself.

Is it beyond you how to do it? Have you never bought anything off eBay (as they have the same censorship) but direct as I did after 10 mins yesterday talking by email?

A) you need to read
B) ditto think
C) come off dating sites as you won't get anywhere with a chip on your shoulder

I got talking to a girl the other day. The conversation turned to how long each of us had been single, her reply was five years. Then she told me "if someone does not ask me out the first time they speak to me I'll generally get bored and wander off".

That'll be why you've not found anyone in five years then. Maniac.

The algorithms to trap email on dating sites are pretty robust. I've tried to circumvent them in the past, but they seemed to trap just about everything.

Anyway - here's a thought for you.

I was told on more than one occasion that being a paid member of 'Match' gave the other party confident you were actually serious about dating - rather than someone just playing around.

That's very true so it's down to a humorous profile. I've said before but I didn't even have photos. I had dozens of dates, let a lot of girls down and ended up with a dream.

I beleive it's all down to the profile. I've got it somewhere if I can find it I'll put it on here. I remember there was a bit that every date said they liked which went something like 'I'm looking forward to what the future has in store, but then again I looked forward to what Woolworths had instore and look what happened there'. Basically it was all banter like that and they felt they were meeting someone interesting for a change because there's a lot of boring numpties out there. My idea was to them to get the walking talking version asap and it worked every time. I'm not saying all my approaches worked - nothing like it but I was choosy who I approached. I would say of every 10 I contacted 4 replied then 3 started emails/texts then 1 I would date.

Edit: it wasn't put on either I'm like it normally. A bit of a handful.

Can I be bothered to line up a series of dates this week or not? Got to the point with 2 of my Tinder matches we either need to meet in person or it'll just fizzle out. Whats putting me off is just come out of a pretty difficult relationship and while mentally Im fine, Im certainly not as confident as I used to be and nowhere near in good shape. However, went out last night and woke up next to a very pretty French girl, so evidently 'still got it' to some degree. Hopefully will see her again at some point.

Part of me says 'carpe diam' and go for it, part of me says wait until you feel and look better. Neither of the girls are 'amazing' or drop dead gorgeous, but both would be solid 8's and the type you could take home to mum. Also, there is just something about internet dating which is a bit odd. Getting drunk in a bar and picking up an exchange student is just much more traditional!

you're describing me as boring because i said your cunning plan to get round a huge company's business model with a poorly thought through thing you've clearly never tried was a frankly bullst idea? Not seeing the logic.
