Tried tinder for the first time.

I have spent a week swiping right.

Zilch.

Not one person swiped right to me.

Downloaded Tinder on Tuesday Lunchtime.

Completed it Today. biggrin

Probably 1 in 15ish rights to a left. Started off really picky, lefted a few my mistake and lefted many many many that didn't meet any standards known to man! Then even started "righting" on girls that looked like they might be amenable to more casual interactions. hehe

1 Match. frown

And even then was a case of her cover pic being MASSIVELY different to her other pics, rolleyes so I have no desire to message her
Did see a girl I used to work wit a few years back. Even when I worked there she had a bit of a reputation for being open to casual. But even after I did her a favour with her car, she never offered anything. She's not really my type, but I'd have settled for a blowie! I lefted her on Tinder.

Anybody had joy on "Hinge" The Mutual friends by Facebook app?

I've had a few matches. Even had a couple of dates.

Was chatting to one on christmas eve. Seemed okay. Then she deleted me .... hey ho.

Careful not to have any pics on both profiles, the new one explicitly states only here for fun and temporary little spoons. I'm getting a much better hitrate both on matches and hookups as a direct result.
The success of this depends on the age of girl. For 18-26 year olds, they have had enough of guys just wanting some fun. Once you get above 30 or so, the girls are fed up of the guys wanting something serious.

Doesn't work with UK postcodes. Expects US format zip codes.

Treat it as a numbers game. They don't owe you a response let alone a date.

No decent chat after a couple days. unmatch.

Aye, thats how to look at it. Although in this case it was me waiting for a reply from her.

When I first tried Tinder I had zero matches at all!

Gave it another go recently and I have had 5 or 6 matches but of the ones that communicated one went straight to the "click this link for my bikini pics" scam message as a reply, the other was on Christmas Eve and went straight to "are you coming down some pub I had never heard of, I'm on the corner table" like we were old mates. Weird. It's also funny seeing girls who are obviously on every free site - POF, OKC, Tinder etc, although they probably think the same of me!

1. Delete the account

2. Make sure you have the GPS settings menu set to allow apps to use your location, new account

i do love the way that so many people just assume that bad results means there must be a technical issue.

I installed tinder a few weeks ago, got zero.

Followed the steps as outlined last week and within half an hour had the conversation in the screenshot posts above, then around two dozen matches in the last three days.

It was a bit of a kick in the balls to get no response first time around so I thought I'd see if that would help greendiff out.

It's not like mine is a unique experience with that app either.

Improve your pictures, have something witty in your description.

Dress well, gym, have pics of you looking like you're going to be fun.

The simple rules for guys to do well on Tinder appear to be:
1. Be attractive.
2. Don't be unattractive.

Subtle distinction between the two, but it's always useful to remember that you're tapping into the shallowness inherent to the dating choice game. Embrace that, understand that, and use it to your advantage if you can.

First pic should be your best pic, good clothes, smiling, sunlight, nice backdrop, and not a group photo. You want your best possible pic to be the first one seen to catch those that swipe on the first pic only...

Question of Etiquette for Tinder

I've now seen 3 girls on Tinder that are on my Facebook friends list. I know them all reasonably well enough to talk to. Worked with 2 of them, 3rd is a friend of a friend that I've seen socially a few times. None of these girls strike me as wanting one night of passion (well 3 and half mins winkhehe ) Though one of them I would be OK with a one off. All 3 have the mental in bus loads, hence their near permanent status of Single on FB.

So

Left or Right? confused

(so far I've lefted them all)

Technology is a great enabler, however the universal rules still apply:

Attractive, sane, single. Pick any two.

Go for it with the ones you 'know' at least you know what they actually look like. If they're up for it they'll have swiped onto you

At the risk of being romantic, if they are friends of friends then you may even have something in common as well as being happy rattling each other senseless
