Shirley you noticed her taking phots? Right decision anyway.
I was pretty drunk lol. The captions read things like "kept this one quiet" and "out with my boy". This was the first time we'd met. I did ask her about them and she said she'd take them off. When I got home she phoned me and asked if I was going to patch her. I never replied and wished her good night.

You took the classy approach. Well played. Don't let this taint your online experience too much, keep at it and you'll find someone better to go on a date with.

She'd probably have been fun in bed though..

Schoolboy error, that one. Could have ditched her the following morning.

Yeah I'm a nice person so would at least make the most of the night and make sure the other person is enjoying too. End of the day I asked her out so I feel it is my obligation to stay with her the night even though I'm not into her.

Oh yes I'm active and been talking to many girls. I understand that sometimes things don't go exactly as planned lol.

How's your luck ?

Please explain this to an old lady?

TIA.

Yeah you could have been a dick about it but you didn't so well done. I don't know if I'd feel an obligation to stay out with someone i wasn't into for too long, but sure, I get that. A few drinks and a walk around town is always nice anyway. If you're talking to other girls, great. Dating can be quite fun after all, even if things don't go as planned.

My luck? Informal sex with a friend. Fairly regular dates on POF. I guess at some point I'll meet someone who I hit it off with again, at least for a while.

Out of interest, does anyone regularly change their profile, as in the pics and how it's written. It's funny how you can attract more or less depending on how you word it, and how good your shots are.

Urban dictionary explains it as to be left on your own? I think that fits in with the context, but I'm not sure.

Urban Dictionary's top definition is:

In Computer Software industry: the process of taking old bugs out and putting new ones in.
I'll download that patch from Microsoft when they release a service pack to fix what it broke.

Maybe that was just it - He was going to apply an industry based fix to make her more user friendly and palatable?

It means that I will just leave her and not talk to her again. It's a Glasgow phrase.

Don't have a profile on any of these sites (right now, nothing against them) but it shouldn't be that surprising that if you choose pictures and carefully word a profile then you are more successful than if you don't put much thought into either!

My mates ex who still comes out with our group of friends occasionally mentioned she was on POF, her profile is a bit of a car crash - particularly her choice of pictures. Don't think she is having much luck.

Well yeah you're right of course. My post didn't really get across my point!

I meant that I had loads of pics text and changed it all around a few times and got different girls.

The sensible but adventurous profile that was supposed to portray me well with pics of me casually smiling did ok, generally attracted shy, childless mid twenties uni grad types. When I changed my profile to sound sporty and mentioned my kid, all the 30+ mums from within 50 miles were getting in touch. The funniest is how my profile is now, I've called myself a lazy scumbag who won't pay for a date, the pics show me pulling stupid faces, wearing glasses even though I don't need them and I took the shots that show maximum tattoo's. All the 'cool girl/rock chick' types are interested. By far the most successful.

Not really surprising I guess, but it's a venture into popular culture I've not tried before.

I proposed after about 2-3 months. The marriage lasted 1.5 years, which is far longer than I figured it would scratchchin

So, one has to ask the question why did you propose or go through with the wedding if you didn't expect it to last?

OK, well maybe I hoped it would last a bit longer than that, but I never got the feeling it would last forever. She was pregnant, and marriage meant we had the ability to rent a place at a reduced rate.

I felt like I'd have proposed one day anyway, but the circumstances sort of forced my hand. That said, after living with her for a year maybe we'd have realised we didnt get on, and broke up.
