i didn't think that was the bit that was the issue... after all if he was dating a number of girls at the same time, that might be seen as unethical. I rather thought it was more the wording suggesting he would be back dating again soon that was weirder.
How does 'might be back' suggest 'will be back soon' please?

I think the weird thing is not going on a few dates, having a meal at each other's places etc, hasn't come before declaring "I'm off the market".

You're going to look a bit fecking odd if the 2nd or 3rd date goes tits up and you go crawling back!

i couldn't remember the exact words, and equally couldn't be arsed to scroll up to find them. Starting off with a new date already thinking about it going into the st-can and on to the next is jaded internet dating veteran territory.

I had a mate who spent 5 years hammering every dating app there was, before it was really the respectable hobby it seems to have become. He would break it off after a couple of dates with every single girl, citing tiny transgressions or superficial shortcomings such as weird laugh, slightly asymmetrical face or (this is genuine) makes a strange noise when she cums. Basically, he had decided to chronically and persistently hedge his bets, and this tends to make people objectify each date rather than humanise them. Lots of dating hobbyists exhibit this behaviour. He admits now it was kind of an addiction, and since facing up to that he found a really nice girl and is now engaged.

However actively telling prospective future dates that they've met someone but might be back single soon... that's a whole other level. May as well just say (because this is what the other person will hear) "i have attachment anxiety and commitment issues and so you're better off steering well clear". It's positively undermining the thing which on the face of it the guy was seemingly trying to achieve. I mean FFS she's not going to read that and think "ah OK cool well he must be a proper catch if he's actively dating... looks like i'll just settle in for a few weeks/months/years with some ice cream and a few box sets and wait around hoping that he'll be back on the market soon". Surely men are not stupid enough as to think this is not at best totally redundant, and at worst projecting an image of being a proper ?

Ah, so you half read his post, read into it what you wanted to then criticised him for it. Nice one.

No I read it, then edited your reply to what was pertinent to my question. You half read something and answered essentially what you wanted to read, I read and answered what I needed to. There is a difference.

Last post from me on this subject anyway. Anyone who feels the need to defend a position after having admitted they didn't properly read or recall the words of the person they are criticising is not worth the time. As you were.

B2CV seems tired and emotional, or at least very excitable.

One month in to tinder and it's s poor showing on my part. Around 8 or so likes and of those 8, only 3 replied to messages.

Of those 3, one said she was too far away (very annoying as she was a lovely Polish girl my age). I guess we were closer at the time one of us 'swiped'
Another bored me to death about wanting to know me before we met. I deleted her.
And the one in Oxford deleted me the day before we were meant to meet for coffee.

I don't log on every day now but I have a peek from time to time.

Ahhhhhhhhhh, I guess Im poking my head back in here for the first time in a while....

On paper, the perfect girl. An absolute equal to me in every way. But since day 1 there has been something missing. Some butterflys, some form of sexual attraction, I dont know what. She's got a fantastic figure, and amazing mind, but there was 'something' not there.... A bit st really, and probably the best one I've let go. Someone is going to be one fking lucky guy.

Some time to myself might be nice now.

WTF - that bit about not using it when watching tv....her rules or yours?

Also - can you not think of better things to do before sleep...
I decided to not use my phone when watching tv.
I mean after we've done whatever I like to look thru car groups for a bit.
Oh well. "Compromise" .

You're a mug. I would not have anyone tell me not to look at my phone whilst watching TV. I am often working on it and sending e-mails.

Just for clarity: say you finish up on her tits, would you then just get your phone out immediately and start looking through 'car groups for a bit' whilst she wipes it up?

This might be a stupid question but where do you get your profile pictures from? The only pictures of me are either racing my bike or with the children, and there aren't many of them as it was usually dad taking them!

Do I need to resort to selfies which always look crap, especially of me or should I ask a friend to take some?

And no, I'm not uploading any for the PH judging panel!

Get a friend to take some. Have a change of tops too so it looks like they're not all taken at the same time.
My dad got me to take loads of pics of him and he chose the best ones to upload on the mature dating site he'd chosen. He'd been a widower for 4 years and was very lonely - met a similar aged (80s) widow and they've been married nearly 2 years now.

Well, in that case, maybe you two should get a room.
