Wrong again. In just under 5 years at uni, I've had one friend with benefits and one girlfriend. FWB was a truly wonderful girl but I stupidly got drunk and told a coursemate about us after she requested things were kept low key. Result... friend without benefits. The girlfriend was a case of jumping in at haste, regretting at leisure - the longer things went on, the more it became apparent she was an overly-attached, paranoid, broody hypochondriac. I decided to cut my losses and run.

You're probably thinking of me, when I had a big big crush on the girl that was due to be my housemate for the following year (and I think she sort of knew it, but never mentioned it), but who instead ended up helpfully dropping out of the course about a week after signing all the contracts for the house....

Personally, I think you're trying too hard & are coming across as desperate. Do you have any "normal" friends (i.e. not the steam club) you can go out with to a few bars?

I think you need to learn how to talk to women on a social level - stop trying to impress them with the pilot / race driver stuff - it isn't working. Unless you're flying your own helicopter or driving for McLaren, no woman is going to give a st. All they will see is someone who "can't make this weekend, I'm off to Knockhill" etc.

This might sound daft, but you've moaned about being skint before so why not get a part-time job in a call centre?

You'll earn some cash, flexi hours to suit your course & trust me on this - they are mainly staffed by women in their 20s. The social life is very good (boring work means interesting nights out) but mainly you'll learn how to talk to women face to face.

If it helps, I have found the best way to increase the amount of female attention and offers you are getting is to get in a long term relationship and be an expectant father irked

Look, I appreciate you are a country gentleman and not like all those rough boys, and why oh why can't the girls just see how much better you are than the bds and all that, but a lot of people achieve that in their first five days.

The problem may be that your standards are too high. Or that you have them at all.

Agree with this. Just been combing back through the thread and you're trying way too hard, Matt. Chill out and relax.

Why? I thought most of them, if not all, ended up shagging an actual woman.

While you've got 'shop open you'd be better off getting rid of the excessive forehead and adding a 12C onto the gravel drive.

Just had a funny idea... anyone bored enough to create a Facebook with a few Photoshopped pics of Matt like the one above, start a Tinder profile and see if they're more successful?
