If your dad hasn't got a beard, you've got two mums.
Ahaha I went to see the Beards a few nights ago.How a novelty band can pump out four excellent albums with every song about beards is impressive.
Some of their better videos

I couldn't help but notice how many footballists now have them. I was watching matches from "paupersleague" at the weekend, and it looks like a fashion that's really caught on with the bladder-kickers. Like tattoos really.
So how long before the public think - f**k this, if they've got one, I'm shaving.

I also find it weird that there are people out there who have a beard but have areas that don't grow so it's all clumpy with bits missing and other parts that are wispy, why bother you just look like a try hard and a messy one at that.
Mine would be a bit like that if I grew it I think, I'd manage a decent goatee but anything wider would be very patchy. Alas the wife complains that I'm scratchy if I doing shave every day so I guess I'll never find out.Beards FTW.
Started growing mine during 3rd year of university at the same time I decided to grow my hair long. Has been present ever since.
IMO, part of it is laziness. Shaving every day is a mission. Beard probably gets trimmed once a month.
But I do agree with the OP, beards are now fashionable especially amongst the hipster crowd.

I've had a beard since February - just grew one on a whim and have had many good comments about how it suits me.
I tend to keep it quite neat so shave the messy half from the Adams apple down.
Also tend to trim it to a #2 or #3 once a month.
However, decided to have a shave on Monday. Instantly regretted it so now in the process of growing it back

It always makes me wonder how some people can grow a beard and decent facial hair and there are just some who can't; I can grow a decent beard in a week as can my colleague, my older colleague can't grow facial hair for st and if he doesn't shave one day he comes in all moaning that he looks awful however apart from a bit of wispy hair on his upper lip that has to be pointed out, you wouldn't notice.

Did anyone see Justin Bieber's attempt at a moustache, my cat could lick that off; what a tt!:

Had a beard for a few months a few years ago, I liked the look of it however generally it got a bit irritating after a while and whilst I hate shaving and don't shave if I can get away with it, I found keeping the beard clean and tidy was even more of a hassle than having to shave, so off it came.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/BaByliss-Men-7890U-i-stubb...2 mins a day, no shaving rash, no cuts, no spending £20+ a month on blades and 'products'.
.4 mm gives good stubble. 5mm a nice tidy beard.
You know it makes sense.
I've worn one since about 1990, longer (now) than I lived without one.
I've shaved it off twice, once because I screwed up the trimming (beards migrate across your face if you don't shave symmetrically) and because my wife had never seen me without, and the second time at Christmas past. That will be the last time I go naked because my kids accused me of being Mr Potato Head (which might be harsh, but is entirely fair).
