Yes, but we understand it's an ambitious tattoo of Edinburgh.

Anyone else watching the Edinburgh tattoo on BBC1?
Yes, just waiting for Alex Salmond to jump out of an spangly oatcake and declare that the Army was a Scottish idea.

ION, chatting with Dad while watching the Tattoo, "see those flashes on the arms? That means they are Maltese Garrison Artillery". Apparently he served with a few in his time with RA.

OK I know it's against the rules but feck it...

Car question: where can I get the paint for my car door (Audi code LZ3L) and how much will I need to spray the entire front passenger door with at least 2 coats?

Any auto paint suppliers will mix it for you at the drop of a hat and advise on how much you will need. They will also supply it in any form you like. I usually get it in spray cans and would guess one can of primer, two cans of paint and one of lacquer.

Hibiskusrot Pearl according to this:

Don't need primer, I'm going to flat the lacquer off the 2nd hand (silver) door and spray it at work. We already have the clear lacquer (drums of the stuff)...

It will be done in a proper spray booth, force dried an all that jazz biggrin

It'll never match perfectly but they never do.

OR

I could leave it silver and sign write it... something along the lines of

"This replacement door has been left silver to remind the person that hit the original that they really should drive with their fking eyes open!"

Make sure you hang onto the car's PR codes. That page at the front of the owners manual is worth it's weight in gold. All VAG owners should photocopy that page and fold it behind the picture of their children in their wallet.

It IS that important.

Picking parts without those PR codes is just a jumble without them. Please hang on to'em.

So, the Supercars spotted thread is a total no go at the moment due to some images that are so massive it freezes my iPad.

Still, half the time it's just the same cars from different angles so I'm not missing much.

Well order a tin, pot, can, touch-up stick from that there website. If it's going to be sprayed using a paint gun and compressor buy the smallest tin they sell and a litre of the appropriate thinners. If you're going to use rattle cans then I'd guess you'll need at least two if not three for a good coverage.

(They don't mind thickos phoning up and discussing their plans with them. VOE)

I have pics of an ex works...........Swift from yesterday but as mentioned can't upload any of them

to this laptop.

You can see it just about in the phone pic I posted yesterday with a MK2 Escort in front.
