Fark.

That must be a nightmare for the owners. The owner of the Salar 40 I occasionally work on won't entertain the idea of paying for a mooring near a channel - too much risk of damage apparently. As he's a professional sailor in his day job (master of a cable layer) I'm only too happy to accept the advice.

Small club with limited space for boats... trots (snigger) are the only viable option.

When I had my boat I had my mooring near by (it was 1000 yards down stream from where this accident happened yikes ) I made sure my boat was on the inner row nearest the bank so in the event of an incident they would have to plow through two other rows of boats to get to mine.

Our Gallery front has been rented out for a show tonight & tomorrow.

I'm sitting at my desk earlier and the bloke setting it up wheels a massive oven through the gallery into my production studio at the back, expecting me to make a space, provide power etc.

"Where do I put this"? he says.

I don't think he was expecting, "Back where you fking found it" as a response.

He took it away though.

Diabolical liberty PP you should have shoved his head into his own oven yes

ION: Apparently when you scrap/sell your car under the new tax system the DVLA automatically refund when their system shows the details change.

I scrapped the Audi... after I paid for the VED to start on Oct 1st... now to see if the tax automatically comes back scratchchin

Evening all.
Tonights thankless task has been to try and tax my bloody car.
90 fking minutes so far to try and get the gov.uk website to get to the final stage so I can pay for it. am working tomorrow (60 miles away) so I need to get it taxed tonight.
My own fault, I should have realised that there was no way it would actually work properly for day 1 of the new system.

Did you see my FB update? Frustrating. Still, I'm getting to keep my money a little longer. And according to my PO I only need the V11, not an MOT cert... Though not sure I have time until Friday now. Hopefully website will be mended by then. Either way I've tried. Their problem.

Day 1 is tomorrow.

Today is quite often the busiest day the motor trade has in a year as it's end of a registration month, huge volumes of new cars being registered today, plus PXs coming in, used cars also being taxed for end of Sep as dealers have huge expectations set upon them for this month, end of Q3 too, which basically makes or breaks your year.

So DVLA systems will have been at peak demand, no wonder they borked a bit.

1st Sep (new reg day) - we delivered 5 cars.
30th Sep - we delivered over 60 cars. Utter chaos.

I'm whiling away my last few hours of nightshift watching The Long Way Round. Seen it loads, but not for a while and it's making me pine for travel and adventure...

Road trip to Romania if the offing next spring I feel. Highlands in 2 weeks, will do for now.

Talking of tax - I can remove my (lightweight, titanium) Tax Disc Holder with 2012's tax disc in it from the bike today. I'm just ahead of the game when it come to displaying a current tax disc hehe

Something in the fuel injection system (maybe the high pressure fuel/injector pump?) went wrong and it would only run on 3 cylinders... if it would start at all. Too expensive to fix on top of a replacement gearbox for a £700 snotter

Morning.

Leafster,

Just found another red Fiat Uno in our village. No stupid electronics, spares cost a fiver and still does 38mpg. Yours for £250 and a bit of filler. tongue out

Not a great motorway monster though.
