I left my tax disc in the corner of my windscreen today. And it will probably still be there for tomorrow too. That's me. Living right on the edge.

I took my tax disc out of the Land Rover... even though it's still valid for another month smile

Still waiting for the scrapped Audi's automatic refund.

Took Mrs Champers' tax disc out last night, no problems. Took mine out today and the fcensoredg thing's left a heap of sticky residue on the windscreen irked

Other events today include getting quotes for fixing one of the ovens (packed in on Sunday cooking a roast) and the Dyson and more cheerfully, a wood burning stove for the lounge smile

Oh, and bought tickets for all of us to go and see Queen and Adam Lambert in January which will be Princess Junior's first concert biggrin

Oh, evening everyone thumbup

Thought they weren't available until Friday?

Are you on the inside track?

I used Wynns carburettor cleaner spray to get the residue of the tax disc holder off my windscreen...

(how does that read on the trivial-O-meter?)

I can't find the second Tweety Pie tax disc holder that lived on the Cosworth screen.

I want to put the first tax disc from July 1984 for the reg number my Fiesta now has,in the windscreen.

fiesta 2008,reg number 1983 Y.

Still following this,I shall be asking questions later.

WD40 is what I used - plus a little persistence.

Oh, and other place. I've something I'd like to ask you if I may.

Are you in Wales for long, Dicky? I'm hoping that there will be another opportunity!
Been absolutely overwhelmed with indifference for the drink up in either Cardiff or Bristol. It may have been my Brunelian errors which put members off. They couldn't bear the idea of spending an evening with a chap who thought the Great Western Railway's tunnel under the Severn was built by Brunel. And who could blame them?

Never mind, SWTH (I'm never sure how to pronounce that, is it Swuth would you think?) and I had a very pleasant evening talking about all the good old times we never had together and we will do again I feel sure.

In Wales for as long as they need me. And, my word, they are picturesquely vague about their requirements.

Had the most bizarre experience earlier. We have MiL very poorly in hospital and me working and staying up in Wales unable to help with midweek visiting. Ran out of urgent work at lunchtime an asked if it would be okay to go. Left at noon, arrived home in Newbury at 2:30, regrouped, got to the hospital in Basingstoke with Mrs C at 3:30. As we were going in we met the consultant coming out. "I was just on my way to phone you to say things aren't looking good." Left Mrs C there and drove back to Newbury to fetch her sister. We arrived back at the hospital before five. She knew her daughters were there and after about half an hour quietly passed away.

The fickle gods of chance were with me today. It could have all been so different.

Sorry to hear that DC.

At least her loved ones were there at the end.

Thanks, iva. She was lovely. She had an uncomfortably poor upbringing with many siblings she helped to look after. She had a good marriage, produced four children of her own and had a comfortable old age. Rarely complained. 93 she was. Dodged being strafed in the lanes of Newbury by a German fighter during the war!
