Well that was an unusual commute. I rounded a fast, sweeping corner to be greeted by a queue of traffic on the main road. "Odd", I mused, "perhaps there's been an accident. It is very slippery along this road at the moment." As the queue slowly progressed the reason for the additional time on my journey presented itself: a swan. Happily parading itself up and down along the dotted line, occasionally meandering up to a car and taking a sniff at its bumper / radiator grille / badge. Eventually I made my way past as it took particular interest in a first generation Passat CC heading in the opposite direction to me.

Good old Wiltshire.

I'm now 3 Jaffa Cakes into my Friday. (Shortly to be 4.)
Jaffa cakes should become the official measurement of time!

I've decided to do a handful of tapas dishes for tonight's guests rather than anything too formal as we'll be in and out of the patio doors and onto the balcony. Did a bit of prepping last night and now seem to have a fridge stuffed with various marinades and sauces. Of course, now it's morning, I've completely forgotten what I was going to do with them.

Morning.

My usual stock of Jaffa cakes is down to big fat zero as I was kind and dished them out. Thereby ruining my cake to shift cycle ratio.

I do, however, have a chocolate sponge cake with choc spread type thing. And an orange Club.

This is my 9000th post. How very uneventful. Do I look any different?

You hair looks softer and more manageable. I'm told it's common at 9k.

ION - it just kicked off between to of the women at work.

Most amusing.

I smirked. But I was laughing on the inside.

I didn't make myself lunch today so bought a ready-made sandwich. Then I spotted them, proper A & W Root Beer for sale in the local shop.

I love it, must have spent too much time working with Seppos. banditburger

How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have we found?
The same old fears.
Wish you were here.

'The man in the suitcase'.
His usual irrelevant nonsense.
It was a series on the telly many moons ago, in black and white no less.
I had it confused with a follow up series to Man at the Top which doesn't seem to exist and I may have invented by accident. IMDb has Man in a Suitcase as the follow up to Danger Man when Patrick McGoohan went off to do The Prisoner. And took KAR 120C with him.

Is it just my imagination or have they actually faded to be two very slightly different shades of grey?

Barq's is my favourite, I think because of the caffeine:

I tried to drown myself in the stuff when I was in the US last week.

There's nothing a couple of shots of vodka can't fix.
