Well, that was a very pleasant evening sitting on the balcony for a few hours chatting about everything and nothing while the pyrotechnics guys did their thing. Tapas stuff seemed to go down well, although the booze certainly helped. Her Mum is quite funny in a ever-so-slightly bonkers way. It was nice to be able to share watching the fireworks with someone again, not done that for ages.
I still have no real idea where I stand with this girl, but I'll cope without any further progression as I'm still a bit Meh about relationships anyway. So, ho-hum.

ION, upon clearing down the kitchen I have discovered a new blokeish way of getting rid of those historic baked on black bits on a glass Pyrex dish. G3 compound and a scouring sponge FTW.

Over 300 miles this evening in my 23 year old Merc, lovely. For some reason the older and more 'mechanical' the car, the more I like doing big miles. I'd rather fly than use some modern diesel.

Should we do something about the disparity between how the Towers appears from the outside and how it actually is on the inside? There is a school of thought that considers the exterior appearance sufficient to ward off intruders.

A little bit of 3M polishing compound on a clean cloth will take minor scratches out of your iPhone screen

Currently...this for me too but I wanted to do stuff and weather is a bit pants.

Already had the long [5 minutes] walk to collect Fiesta from a service.

They washed it which is nice, last washed when they last serviced it ...in 2013.

Fiesta just doesn't do any miles as the Fiat hogs all the interesting journeys.

Morning.

Attending a black tie charity ball tonight with the good lady Wife. Have just ironed my dress shirt so thought I'd have a bow-tie trial run. I'm sure they get harder to tie. I think it'll be the ready tied one tonight unless I master it again.

Next job, polish my shoes.

Eh? You've got a Land Rover to get through an MoT and you reckon you've nothing to do? confused

In related news (IRN?), I collected the new (to me) chassis for my 90 yesterday. Needs a new rear crossmember and the engine mounts moving to suit the 300Tdi (it's a Td5 chassis), but other than that it's totally solid.

Don't know whether to strip the old waxoyl-type stuff it's been covered in and re-protect it, or work to the basis that a recoat in any thin areas and on new metal will suffice given that the only reason the crossmember went west is because the previous owner riveted an alloy chequerplate panel directly to the steel crossmember nonobanghead
