On a job in Wembley in the late 70s we had a crew of blokes who all commuted except one. On one day during the winter the forecast had been particularly bad so you do what you have to do and got up even earlier. We came from Gillingham in Kent, Rayleigh in Essex, Reading in Berkshire, Stevenage in Hertfordshire and Royston in Cambridgeshire and we all got in on time or earlier. The chap who lived in Kenton, the first town north of Wembley, rang in at 9 to say he couldn't make it, the conditions were too bad.

It's in your genes I reckon. You can either get to work on time or you can't.
