Same with me though I would not be tagged in it but got nominated this evening also my mother got nominated too neither of us are doing it tbf got better things to do then getting someone else to chuck a bucket full of ice cold water over me and filming it.

Getting sick to death of this st of facebook the only thing that keeps me on there is selling mx5 parts on the various facebook pages and organising events and the odd trolling fest on a boring evening.

Lighten up, its a bit of fun. The child is reading out nominations, clearly she knows what she's doing and whats going to happen.

Got nominated tonight not doing it as I literally just got dry out of the pool. I may do it tomorrow if I'm in a good mood and if I do i won't be nominating anyone. I'll be telling people to just donate, what ever charity floats your boat and then shut up about it. Thinking about it I'll just donate a tenner and be done. Simplest solution.

Some real killjoys on this thread, a bit of laugh, a bit of money thrown in the charidee pot, what harm can it do? Some of you need a serious sense of humour transplant!

Sure she didn't mean Mary Williams, aka BRAKE..?

For the record, Mary, this is in no way meant to be a death threat.
If only it was Williams. I'd make the ice cubes out of liquid oxygen. idea
For the record, Mary, that, also, was not a death threat....hehe

Bucket of ice? More like a bucket of fking ste!

I'm sick of seeing and hearing about this BS from all these bandwagon jumping s. I'm embarassed by the fact that somebody actually nominated me (and then chased it up with a text). It got completely ignored I'm pleased to say.

what with this and the wedding thread is PH just full of grumpy, moaning old men?

Myself and a load of friends just took it as it is, a chance to have a bit of a laugh, nominate a friends and put people slightly out of their comfort zone and raise a few quid for either MND or Macmillan depending on personal preference. Few peoples inventive ideas are always good for a giggle. There really are some miserable people around these days.

A valid point of view, but there'll be another fad next month and another after that. If you want to donate to those specified charities then fill yer boots, but some of us already donate to charities that we've got our own reasons for supporting. As I said earlier, someone chucking a bucket of water around isn't going to change that for me, but if it makes someone donate who wouldn't have given anything to charity before that's great.
As long as they do the same for the next one, and the one after that, and the one after that, ad nauseum.

I vowed that I wouldn't do it, then I got nominated by some of the Scouts to do it... Got the family involved as well...

And, yes I have donated to Macmillan ;-)

Think I'll donate to als,MacMillan and the water project. After all there are more people without access to clean water than the much smaller number of ALS sufferers. And everyone's been wasting bucket fullls of it.

You may think so. I think it is a demonstration of peer pressure and intimidation of the worst kind and I find it abhorrent.

Why not donate some cash and a bit of time to charity without feeling the need to post video evidence all over social media?

It's perfectly acceptable to do stuff for charity and keep it to yourself.

You'd think so but all the s on my FB seem to be doing it for the attention. Why don't they just quietly donate some money to charity like normal Good Samaritans do? Oh yeah, they wouldn't get any Facebook 'likes' by doing that. tts. rolleyes
