The Ice Bucket Challenge

They're even doing it at my work place now. Just had an email that one of the biggest attention wes (if not the biggest) I've ever met is taking the challenge on Friday. What a coincidence!
My office block is shared with a call centre for a satellite TV provider (name rhymes with "pie") and appears to be staffed by fat people that smoke, reprobates and imbeciles. They were all out the front of the building doing this yesterday, screaming and shouting. My sides were splitting I anticipate them getting a letter from the landlord.
(Yes. I am a miserable bd).
At least in the case of those actually donating there is money being raised by the face book / social media Ice bucket campaign.
Unlike the 'change your face book profile to a cartoon character' of a few years ago which went viral to stop violence against children or something like that.

When did deliberately throwing iced water over a child stop being child abuse? What a world...
A chap I know does it every bath time with his kids. He did it with his eldest and his youngest decided she wanted to join in now they both get a soaking from the cold tap and they love it, indeed they egg him on to do it. He can't even remember how it started, it was just one of those weird bath time rituals that seem to evolve but the bottom line is both his kids love it.

Some real killjoys on this thread, a bit of laugh, a bit of money thrown in the charidee pot, what harm can it do? Some of you need a serious sense of humour transplant!
You may think so. I think it is a demonstration of peer pressure and intimidation of the worst kind and I find it abhorrent.I nominated Chris Harris! Shame he'll never notice!

I wanna see him get involved!
Though I'm not a big fan of the ALS Foundation itself, the celebrity endorsements have played a big part in making this thing go viral!

"Legendary", "Celebrity".
It gets worse.
Head over to the cringe worthy thread for some self reflection.

I'm a Harris junkie - to a lot of people he is legendary, I find that his videos on Drive are only really rivaled by Petrolicious! And whilst I wouldn't consider him to be a celebrity (I was just illustrating that celebs have helped with this campaign), he is certainly going to be known among the vast majority of PHers - and could probably influence a lot more people to get involved, or help raise the awareness to people not already knowledgeable of the challenge. "Legendary", "Celebrity".
