I am all for charity, however, just as stupid as that neck nomination that happened not so long ago.

Just me that feels this or are others in the same boat?

I've just been "nominated" - I think I'll just text instead.

I just googled it

24 hours to empty a bucket of ice water over your own head.

Have you really assumed that everyone will know what you're on about?

It's all a big craze at the moment. Seen Bill Gates and Andy Murray do it. Kinda got bored of it, though. If I get nominated, my standard "help this charity" reply is that I already support a local hospice a hell of a lot and H4H occasionally so refuse to help others. \/

Seems a bit odd. Either donate to charity or dump a bucket of cold water over your head*, so there a a load of people videoing themselves to show how tight they are.

* Or do neither. Meh.

To be fair, the Bill Gates' one was quite amusing. I just can't stand bandwagons. The celebs are all doing it for one cause and now facebook is full of people I know doing it because Generic Terminally Ill Patient #1254 really wants a holiday.

That's wrong mate, if you do the challenge (I did it last night) you text ICE to the number to donate £3 to Macmillan Cancer and nominate 3 friends, if you don't do it you text FINE to the number to donate £10.

It's just a bit of fun, and it's raising money for a good cause - where's the harm in that?

Is this right? Someone texts me and I'm meant to donate £10 or £3, making myself cold, wet and miserable if I do the latter? No thanks. I'll donate money when I bloody well want to donate money.

I got 'Neck Nominated' publicly by a few people on Facebook when all that was going on.

I just ignored them.

I do give to charity, but not because of some daft drinking or ice game on Facebook.

How big a bucket must it be to take 24hrs to empty? And how do you lift it!?

Charlie Sheen was nominated but instead of ice cold water, he chucked $10,000 over himself which he then donated to the charity. Still quite amusing seeing celebs making a fool of themselves.

That is perfectly fine, but if it helps raise awareness and encourages a few more people to donate to a cancer charity, people who wouldn't otherwise, then I am OK with that.
