Just checked the forecast for south wales and snow is likely too from 12pm-6pm in my area, deffo colder today though so could see it if it drops any lower.

The snow starting tomorrow night will be on the northern flank of the low pressure. There will be a lot of rain as well.

After that we will be seeing high pressure build over the UK, cold and crisp nights, threat of fog.

Sadly the models are pointing to a return of westerlies after that...

Trip planned from East Yorkshire to Cumbria tomorrow. Might have to put the winters on if the met office is to be believed.

I'm half tempted to go back home from the parents just so I can see some snow in the Midlands.

Reading British "newspapers" online this morning, and the use of "weather bomb" seems to be de rigeur?

There's snow in the Alps - mates in Courchevel reported this morning. We've even 12cm forecast for Luxembourg tomorrow. At least my winter tyres won't have been in vain, if only to avoid a €120 fine!

Heavy frost here in thame this morning!

I read that it's the worst skiing season in places due to lack of snow, is that true? Might have read it in the mail...

They forecast clear skies and -3c here Bingley area last night and we got 4c cloud and light drizzle, Sometimes I think the BBC would do better to look out of the window....

There's no weather bomb, the models stopped showing that a few days ago. The snow warning area has been refined and shrunk, it's quite a narrow band generally north of the M4. As above, there will be rain mixed in and it really could be a non event.

However, this system should bring much needed snow to the Alps...

Blast, as we're just south of the M4...though we are at 500ft above sea level. Have taken a look at netweather this morning; this looks interesting...
