To keep Puggit happy, and to kick this thread back into life, it's still snowing here, though beginning to clear a bit.

I say the same thing every year (sort of) I'm 36 - in my entire life I can recall 3-4 winters with any real snow, 99% of the time it's above freezing and drizzly - and whilst I totally understand Winter Tyres are not 'snow tyres' I think I'll manage just fine with my oh-so-deadly in anything below 25c summer tyres.

I bloody hate snow.

Just being silly, wink We still have some snow lying around from last year. They got the first snow up in Svalbard a week or so ago. However it's usually October before we get the first snow.

Last year was such a let down with damp dreary weather but after 2010/11/12 we were due a return to form, I'm waiting for the daily express to predict snowmegeddon before I give up hope.

But I look forward to Puggit's predictions as always!

No new snow yet on the Scottish mountains this year. There are still patches of last seasons snow on Ben Nevis.

There's still a patch in the Cairngorms quite visible from the A9 around Dalwhinnie. Probably only about 800 meters up as well.

Where are you?

Got one of the benefits of "winter" last night. Lovely to see, particularly with some nice hot chocolate, biggrin

I'm expecting the same as the last few winters; wet & windy.... Makes cycling less fun, and bloody hard work. Would prefer colder & drier weather please.....

Sadly I suspect August stole the perfect weather - long distance forecasts are not so friendly for the snow lovers frown

That is excellent news...in my experience long term forecasts are a contra-indicator!

Northern lights are almost year round , don't always have to stand in the cold to see them.
