Dammit, it's not looking good for my house move tomorrow then! I'm at the point of Benjj's arrow (anyone who reads anything dirty into that isn't invited to the house warming party biggrin).

Sadly not! Our local ski resort is closed today because it's too warm actually! We'll just walk up and ski down instead of the lift though.

I don't think that anyone apart from the higher areas of the NW and Scotland will see much laying snow, we are still holding out for a real snow event.

thumbup I'm joking, obv. Although plenty have been complaining about NY's (over the top in hindsight) preparation.

I have a curry night tomorrow in Glasgow. This should be fun getting in and out.

Been off work last two days with man/bird/swine/Ebola aids so looking forward to getting out the house. hehe

Considering how this thread has gone, is it actually possible to predict snow longer than say an hour into the future?

Seems not!

Predicting snow in the UK is notoriously unreliable, simply because we live surrounded by a warm bath. Snow tends to fall here at 0 to 2 degrees above freezing, while in other parts of the world it falls way below 0.

If the temp is below 0 here, then there probably isn't precipitation around - hence the old "it's too cold to snow" saying.
